"I got what I needed," Kaitlyn said, eyeing the bodies that lay bloodied on the metal ground. She raised her wrist and pointed at the glowing orb on the back of her gauntlet. "It was in here the whole time."

She eyed the surroundings, gagging slightly when spying the recently deceased again.

"Let's go back up to the surface. We need to find a way off-world."

Daniel nodded, slowly staggering to his feet to make sure his suit wasn't making anything up.

"You fine?" she asked, eyeing him up and down.

"Yeah," he said, scratching the back of his head. "What the fuck happened, though?"

"Looks like you healed yourself with the power that artifact gave you."

     BOOM!

The ground rocked as the walls cracked, forcing the duo onto their feet as bits and pieces of the concrete ceiling fell onto the hallway leading to the stairwell, crunching the door and the group's slim chance of getting out from the basement.

You still alive over there? a voice echoed from the speaker system above them. A manic laugh bounced from wall to wall from down the hallway. Your chariot to space awaits!

Daniel grit his teeth as Kaitlyn's eyes blanked in shock.

"How... how does he know?" she stuttered.

I have been watching you for some time, now, he stated calmly from the speakers. There are cameras all over this place so that I may watch my diseased creations run mad!

The ground started to shake, tiles cracking and falling downwards into a large, spiraling chasm of white.

It looked... sterile. The white was untainted, with a pulsating hue of various light blues, giving off a futuristic-feel. It was the perfect white, a white that you can't even describe a bit. It was a white that you could not replicate, a white that can only appear once: now.

It was a white that only a godly being could create.

Daniel looked down the chasm and saw a silhouette dead-center. It vanished, prompting Daniel to grab the edge of the chasm and drop down. Kaitlyn looked down as he fell to the floor below, then followed suit, grabbing the edge and dropping down.

The room was rather large, boasting the perfect white hue the ceiling, floor, and walls. A bright blue line of paint stretched across the walls like a rubber band, hitting each wall dead-center. Various medical equipment were scattered across the floor, hospital beds towards the sides with actual persons in them.

The lights turned off in a loud clank, and manic laughter echoed off the walls. Circus music started to play melancholily as a singular light turned on at the far end, revealing an average-sized white male in a form-fitting lab coat, black framed glasses and short, well-combed black hair.

"I see you found your way to my clinic, dearies," he yelled from across the room, showing his huge, toothy grin to the duo he was speaking to.

"Who are you?" Daniel yelled, holding his rifle nervously. Kaitlyn punched him in the shoulder, pointing to the man across the room.

"That's the Order's Doctoral Minister, Doctor Bayer Nautilus!" she stated, gritting her teeth.
