"When the Knights came, I was truly happy, but they weren't able to stop the chaos."
-Michael Buthers, Radio Interview
-Eighteenth of Maximum Messis
Daniel put the chest down and fell to his knees, breathing heavily as his head poured out bucket after bucket of sweat. Kaitlyn rushed to him, picking him up off of his knees as Laiful smiled.
"You know the history of our two races now, yes?" he said, folding his arms. His eyes darted all over the place, as if inspecting the odds against him.
"I should have known," the Cleric said, waving his hand, making the table and chest disappear. "I felt a... presence." He paused, turning towards Laiful with his daemon fiends ready,
"You have an artifact on you, DON'T YOU?!" Cleric Xanthro yelled, pointing his fingers at Laiful.
The daemon fiends pounced, their useless limbs flailing behind them as they bared their fangs. Laiful swiftly took out a small laser pistol from his side and shot all three of them between the eyes. They fell to the ground, twitching before they let out a loud moan, silencing forever.
Laiful reached into his robe and pulled out a small orb. It glowed a bright purple before illuminating the whole room in light. Xanthro and his daemon fiends became covered in a dark purple light, causing them to float in the air in stasis-like immobility.
"Yes, I have the damn artifact, Cleric," Laiful yelled, spittle coming out from between his teeth, "and I will use it to avenge my fallen race and prove that we were destined to take the Mantle!"
"What the fuck is the Mantle?" Kaitlyn yelled, pointing her rifle at Laiful. He started laughing as the air around the group began to swirl around madly, the room turning dark as electricity discharged in the air.
"The Mantle is an artifact that had existed since before the beginning of THE FIRST TIME!" he yelled, his cape flowing back in the air. "Whoever has the Mantle in tow is given the power necessary to keep his race eternal, allowing him to create the Universe in the next timeline!"
"We lost the Mantle timelines ago!" Xanthro yelled, attempting to free himself from the artifact's power. "There is no way we will be able to find it!"
Laiful laughed, throwing Xanthro and the daemon fiends across the room and into a wall, still keeping them in stasis.
"I know your little game," Laiful calmly states, walking up to Xanthro's paralyzed body as it lay on the floor. "The Mantle stays on the birth planet of each timeline. I will find it because of the ArcheTECHt Corporation!"
"You own ArcheTECHt?!" Daniel yelled. Laiful twisted his body around, showing a face most sour.
"ArcheTECHt was created for the sole reason to find the Mantle!" he yelled, pointing his finger in the air. "THAT WASN'T EVEN THE SOLE REASON!! IT WAS TO TAKE AWAY AND PREVENT HUMANITY FROM FINDING THE ARTIFACTS! THEY AFFECT YOUR GENOME, GIVING YOU SUPERNATURAL ABILITIES, WHICH WOULD IMPEDE MY PROGRESS!!!"
Laiful's finger pointed downwards. He quickly pointed to Daniel and Kaitlyn.
"I want to destroy humanity and the Homotaurus, and recreate the Universe in my image."
He paused.
"As movie cliché as this sounds, you can't leave because I was dumb enough to tell you my master plot."
