Len's POV
"Gakupo....what time is it..?" I muttered and woke up to a roaring headache. The whole room was silent except for the fact that I was tossing and turning in my bed. "Ah, screw it I'll check myself."
8:15
"SHOOOT! I'M GONNA BE LATE I'M GOING TO BE LATE!" I exclaimed and got my clothes and speed dressed. "Dammit Kaito..," I muttered and just put a piece of gum in my mouth. Gakupo was no longer in the room, so I ran for it once I think I got all of my clothes. I saw Rin as she chuckled at the messy way I dressed.
"Class already started, I just went to get a bathroom break," Rin said as I chuckled.
"Uh, I sorta passed out when Kaito went over to the dorms," I said as Rin shook her head, buttoning up my collar and doing my tie. Not to mention, she knew exactly how to tie my hair into it's weird ponytail.
"Next time, don't be late. It could mess up a record of yours on your report card," Rin said and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. I sighed and nodded, signing into the college and took my seat in the lecture hall with my fixed uniform.
I mean, there should be no reason why I'm late. I literally live at the school. So I guess you could say that I got detention in class.
Ugh, this is horrible! A week before the finals, and I get detention. In. College. And detention in this school was cleaning. So I'm guessing the janitor is happy.
Neru just couldn't help but laugh at me, for being late. God, it's not like I pulled down my pants in public. Kaito had done that once in high school. Though I didn't laugh that much because during that time was my Great Depression.
I took intense notes in class since I didn't want to slack off this time. Not today, alcohol, not today.
I was waiting forever until lunch, where I wasn't able to see Rin. Well, in fact I didn't see her in the hallways where we usually talk to each other. Maybe she would be doing extra credit work in the lab, keeping her grades perfect. So instead of using my lunch time to socialize with Gakupo or something, I didn't have much to talk about or much to talk to so I sacrificed my lunch time with the detention I had that will probably cover it.
Of course, I wasn't the only person in detention. Though particularly, I did not really like the person, I was in detention with.
"Miku? How did you get in detention?" I asked as she rolled her eyes, acting like the diva she is. If she could hear my thoughts I would probably be dead right now.
"Skipping classes. My manager and I keep on having small talk," Miku said as I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. I didn't even bother to ask.
I went into the closet and saw that today's detention was cleaning the library. The dusty, old, library which no one touches. The excuse for cleaning this would be, to make the school look better and that every student enjoys their education!
Of course, that's how the Dean of our college wants it to be. Everything spick and span, or however the saying goes. I grabbed the bucket and sponges while Miku had the towels to dry and the windex, including a duster.
"I'll fill up the buckets to clean the chalkboards and windows. Just dust the books and organize them a bit," I said and started to walk away with my items.
"Wait, Len. I think you might be understanding me," Miku said as I stopped and turned to look at her with a chuckle.
"That you aren't capable of dusting books?" I asked as Miku shook her head.
"It's not that. I heard you and Neru talking about me. And Kaito, too," Miku said as I froze, unsure of what to do or how to respond at this rate. I inhaled deeply and faced her, with a sort of calm expression on my face.
"Look, whatever we said, I thought was true," I said as Miku just chuckled.
"You have it all wrong, mister Lenny. I'm just here to get used to this town, or city that used to be radioactive," Miku said as my eyebrows were raised.
"I barely noticed it. But I guess, I need to pay attention much more in history," I said as Miku nodded.
"What's with the small talk?! You need to start cleaning mister! Still... I need to know what's going on with this Miku story," I thought in my mind.
"Look, whatever Kaito said I think, about the gym closet and stuff. It was entirely my fault. Honest. Neru probably added to it, since Teto and her were the one two I ever told. I did it, because one of his brothers cheated on me, too. I think it was, AKaito. With, Neru," Miku said as I was listening to her story as she added on.
"So I wanted to ruin his relationship that way. It did nothing but pay him hospital bills, so my revenge was perfect. Then I sorta punished the rest of his brothers. Taito and Kikaito, since Nigaito was too young. But, I only meant for Meiko to see. Honestly, I knew that you and Rin weren't cousins," Miku said with a smile on her face.
"Wait, where's Rin?" I asked Miku ask she put a confused look on her face.
"Rin?" Miku asked as I nodded.
"Yes, Rin. I haven't seen her since this morning and we always talk in the hallways when we have the chance. Even exchange glanced in the cafeteria when I have detention," I said as Miku shook her head.
"Now that you think about it, I haven't seen her yet, either. Is something going on, Len?" Miku asked as I didn't know how to answer the question.
Then I heard a scream in the hallways.
"I'm late..," I muttered and dropped the empty bucket and sponges and sprinted towards where I heard the scream.
I yelled out Rin's name, hopefully she would respond. My heart raced with adrenaline and worry. What is going on?
