The Five Ws and One Rin

Len's POV

"Agh! The test for first period was hard!" I exclaimed as I saw Rin in the hallways and waved at her. "H-Hey! How did miss perfect do for the tests?"

She didn't talk as she waved back, holding her book bag and walked away. I raised one eyebrow as I turned to Gakupo, who was standing right besides me.

"That's not Rin," Gakupo said as I raised one eyebrow.

"What are you talking about? Maybe, she's just stressed from her tests. I saw her studying in the library, and she looked really tired out," I said as Gakupo shook his head.

"This girl's boobs are bigger-"

"Gakupo!" I exclaimed, almost hitting him in the face as his hand stopped me. "Why would you notice something like that?!"

"I don't know. But as a guy, someone who does not have boobs, chests stick out of a girl and I can just tell. For example, if everyone in this room were Lukas and wore the same clothes, I would immediately tell which one is Luka," Gakupo said as my eyes widened.

"Um...," I said, confused as Gakupo messed up my hair.

"Don't worry about it right now, Len. You got a shitload of tests to do," Gakupo said and walked away. I sighed and nodded, walking into the lecture hall as the tests were given out for English.

And all of it seemed to be gibberish to me.

Mostly, because all I could think of was Rin, and what Gakupo said to me. Was it possible, that that was not at all Rin?

There's no way that she could skip final's! She woke me up at least two hours early for this. And she wanted to do everything to maintain her grades. There is no possible way, that Rin could not be here. I guess I need to find out somehow.

But, who is that girl, then?

And if she isn't here, where is Rin?

What would she be doing at this time?

Why would Rin not be here?

And when did she even leave?

Maybe, I could have time, if possible, during my lunch time. To, look for her. I have a possible idea, of where she could be.

"What's the answer to number 5?!" I yelled out loud as everyone's attention was turned towards me. The professor looked at me with angry eyes and shook his head.

"Mr. Kagamine, finish your test. Detention for you during lunch," the professor said, writing down something in his booklet. I frowned on the outside while I was silently cheering in my mind as the test slowly started to, Unravel, to me and became easier. (Author: Where my Tokyo Ghoul fans at? OSHIETE YO!)

"How did you do during the tests?" I asked both Gakupo and Luka. She rubbed her eyes, as if she was tired.

"W-Well, I may have slept once or twice but, I did noticed that Rin wasn't herself," Luka said as my eyes widened.

"Told you," Gakupo muttered as I had a face of worry.

"Wh-What do you mean she wasn't acting like herself?" I asked as Luka shrugged and yawned.

"I don't know. Her test was completely blank. She didn't at all answer any questions," Luka said as I seemed shocked.

"Like I said, that is not Rin," Gakupo said as I nodded in agreement.

"I got detention to do," I said and walked through the hallways to find myself in the Janitor's closet, getting the supplies, as I normally do. I was able to find a note attached to there, looking as if it had an important meaning, since it did.

Len Kagamine, you are going the wrong direction. I predicted you would come and look for her in the abandoned library. ~Miku and Neru

"Damnit," I muttered, picking up all the cleaning materials by myself, since I was the only one with detention. I mean, I can understand that since no one wants to get detention during final's day. And to think, that both of them had detention with me. It would be an easy move for them to predict, that I would he looking for Rin there. And now, I'm stuck to cleaning an old library that rarely anyone uses. "I'm such an idiot..."

I filled the bucket with water and met up with the janitor. "Len Kagamine. In a total of 100 times you have been in detention. Congratulations, for your hundredth time, you'll be promoted," the janitor said, tapping his foot. I pumped my fears in the air in victory.

"The one thing that Miku and Neru don't know about since they're new, is our school's traditions!" I exclaimed as the janitor looked at me oddly.

"You do know, that it is not a good thing at all. The whole place needs to look spotless before your next class. If you don't, you'll miss time on your final's tests. And maybe, end up like me," the janitor said as I nodded.

"I'm used to it. I cleaned a lot when I was a kid and I do now. Well, nice talking to you! Now, where do I clean?" I asked as the janitor pointed down.

"The school's basement."

"B-But no one ever looks in the basement..," I said, sort of terrified now. I might fail my final's because of this. But at the same time, Rin's life could be in danger. I just have this things that bothers me. And after what Luka and Gakupo told me about? I'm kind of scared. I nodded at the janitor when he gave me the keys and ran off to the basement, careful not to spill any of the water I'm the bucket.

Once I made it, I opened the door with the keys, and opened the door, starting with cleaning the dust with the duster. As I picked it up, I was cleaning quickly, remembering what the janitor said. So eventually, I was panicking about my tests, and about Rin. She was being so prepared for the final's and she would hate seeing it all go to waste.

"I could care less. If Rin's failing. I'll skip my tests, too," I muttered and ended up finishing the dusting part, as I had to organize the stuff. Which was completely useless, yet it was hard. Most of the things were lying down on the floor.

Then I found a broken doorknob, lying down on the floor, almost like a normal doorknob would attached to the door. When I tried picking it up, it only wobbled.

I saw that the floorboards were slightly different from the rest of the old basement. Instead, it wasn't as dusty, which meant someone used it.

"Rin could be there," I thought in my mind and saw the several keys the janitor had given me. I tried all of them, and in the end, it was the smallest key that he had.

I opened the door and saw that there was a staircase down. "Oh. This place is the school's sewage. But people can walk on the sidewalk without getting wet. Like the janitor."

I took the staircase and carefully walked down on the sidewalk, careful not to walk into sewage water when I heard a familiar scream.

"That does not sound like Rin getting Zola Project tickets," I muttered and ran the direction where I heard the scream. She was tied up and Miku and Neru were about to throw her in the sewage water, which would lead to, horrible places.

"It's not my place to hit girls!" I exclaimed, holding on to Rin tightly so she wouldn't fall and pushed off Miku and Neru from the sidewalk, into the sewage.

"L-Len!" Rin exclaimed as I untied the rope around her. She sobbed and ended up hugging me as I could here her tears.

"It's okay...it's over now...," I said and rested my head on her chin. The whole place stunk, but I could care less. I just cared, that Rin was okay.

The police found out eventually about Miku and Neru, putting them in prison, and cancelling their tours and things. Teto Kasane, the remaining member, admitted to having to do nothing with it as she continued her career as a solo artist.

Rin and Len were able to do a makeup test for what happened and they both passed. Rin got one of the highest honors in her course as Len was second.
