Chapter 30

Glenn POV
I woke up and saw that Maggie wasn't there. I bet that she is on watch or something. With that in mind I got up to feed Brier.

When I got to her crib she was just looking at the ceiling looking cuter than ever. "Hey Brier." I said as I lifted her out of the crib and placed her on the bed.

I changed her diaper and her clothes. I lifted her up and walked into the cafe to feed her a bottle. "Hey Carol. Hey Beth."

I made my way towards the cupboard and grabbed the last of the formula and made a bottle. "Hey Beth when she is done can you watch her? I have to go on a run for her and Judith."

She nodded and Carol spoke,"You can but Rick, Carl, Logan and Daryl have that covered. They left about an hour ago."

"Okay." I trust them with my life but not %100 my sons. I sat back down with Brier and fed her. When she was done I burped her the way Maggie told me to.

I smiled in victory when she burped. Just then I herd a gun shot and thought nothing of it until moments after when Maggie ran in,"Get in your positions. They're back!"

I quickly gave my daughter a kiss on the head and sent her with Beth along with Judith to the bus outside. I ran outside and started shooting with Maggie.

It looked like we were loosing so I decided to climb the gard tower and shoot from there. I looked down and saw that they were back and shooting alongside Maggie.

I drew in a shakey breath and aimed my gun. I pulled the trigger contiuneslly until a shot rang through the air and my heart stopped.

I looked through the scope and saw Maggie. I then immediately looked for Logan in the gard tower close to mine. "Come on Logan where are you?"

When I couldn't see him, I started to freak out.

Maggie POV
I closed my eyes hoping that this would all just go away and I could wake up back a month. I opened them again and I was met with the cold milky eyes that were once so full of life. My son, the one person that kept me alive through all of the bad things in our life.

I turned my head to the side and yelled,"I can't do it anymore. Not without you."

I felt him grab my shirt through the fence and I herd the sound of his teeth hitting the fence. I looked up once more and saw that he was shot through the neck.

He was about to bite me when I herd a gunshot and Rick came and pulled him off of the fence. Rick didn't notice that was Logan until he looked at his face.

He looked at me and whimpered,"Maggie we have to get out of here."

"I can't." I said as he pulled the fence off of me. I stayed curled in a ball until I felt Rick pick me up and he started to run. Then it snapped and I looked at him with fear in my eyes and said, "Carl, Judith, Brier, Glenn where are they?"

He looked down at me and said,"I think Beth and Glenn have them. But we can't go back there Maggie."

I started to cry I broke Glenn's promise to save our children and make sure that they would survive this.

Rick sat me down when we were far enough away. "This isn't real." I kept mumbling to myself. Rick and I had eventually stumbled upon a quiet little cabin.

I went to open the door trying my hardest to keep the noise to a minimum. As soon as the old, rickety door swung open it screeched across the wooden floors. I looked back at Rick and nodded. We cleared it room by room.

Not too long we settled in and were eating some green beans. It was complete and utter silence. It felt as if I couldn't do anything. I lost my son, my son.

That little boy had meant so much to me. The feelings of loosing a child are incomparable to anything in this world. Throughout your childhood you would always think about how your grandchildren would visit you and would laugh and play. That is how it was suppose to be.

This is not the case. My little son only got five years. I never got the chance to tell him that he was going to be a big brother again. I will never get to hold him ever.

Rick cleared his throat and spoke up,"Maggie, Logan he was a great kid. I wish that he didn't have to leave so soon you know?" He paused and let out a whimper. "He was like my own son. I loved him as much as I love Judith and Carl."

I started to cry. I tucked my knees in my chest and put my head down. All I could do was cry. It came as a shock when I felt arms go around me. Rick sat beside me and pulled me into his lap and hugged me into his chest. "Maggie I understand what you are feeling right now. When Carl was three, our first daughter was stillborn. Carl named her Rosey."

"I'm sorry about that Rick." I said and looked up at him.

"Thank you. I guess that what I'm trying to say is that I know what you are feeling right now."

I hugged him. I felt him shift and hug me even tighter and sighed. My eyebrows furrowed when I felt something hard. This man in my best friend, why would he have any feelings for me?

I felt him tilt my head up gently so I was looking up at him. He smiled before leaning in and kissing me. I froze in that moment before pushing him off.

I quickly stood up and said,"What the hell Rick? You know that we are both married." I said in disbelief. I started to walk down the hall to the farthest room and paused by the door,"Goodnight Rick."

I laid down in one of the rooms and starred at the ceiling hoping to fall asleep.

Rick POV
I can't believe that I kissed her! Why would I ever do that? I mean she is one of the most beautiful women that I have ever seen but that is my best friends wife. I can't just do that to them.

I tried to fall asleep but I was awoken but screaming. I ran into Maggie's room and it looked like see was having a bad dream,"Hey Maggs its okay. No one is going to hurt you I promise."

She nodded in her sleep and then wrapped her arms around me. I decided to lay beside her until she fell asleep.

As I closed me eyes I was hoping to see Carl, Judith or even Lori in my dreams. Sadly it was one of those nights where you don't dream.

The next morning when I woke up I saw that Maggie wasn't in bed so I quickly slipped on some shoes and went to look for her,"Maggs?"

Thats when I herd gagging noises. I made my way outside and saw her getting sick next to a tree. I walked up to her and heald her hair back.

When she was done she looked at me and said,"We should go now."

I nodded and with that we were on the road again. While we were walking I decided to speak up,"We will find them, I know it. Even though we lost a lot we can still make it Maggie. You have to for Logan and Brier."

She nodded and looked at me,"I don't want to tell Glenn about him. I just don't it to be real ,Rick. I have just lost too many children over the years." I gave her a look and she continued,"I miscarried when I was with Colin twice, then I miscarried once with Glenn and now Logan. How am I suppose to be happy with having another baby? What if I loose this one to."

"Wait are you pregnant?" I asked in disbelief.

"Shit." She muttered to herself. "Yeah I found out before the prison fell."

"Does Glenn know?"

"Of course." She replied.

"I know that you will be okay Maggie. We will find a safe place for you, the baby, Brier, Carl and Judith. I know it. But before that we have to find everyone else and then we will get there." She nodded and out of the coroner of my eye I saw someone pointing a gun at us. "Maggie move!"

Just as I yelled that a single shot was fired.

A/N= I am going camping for a while so I won't be able to update as much but I will try to.
