1 year later

Maggie POV
I sighed as we were walking down the road to God knows where. We have met several dead ends in the past year or so still failing at finding a safe spot for our group.

I looked over my shoulder at Glenn. I faintly smiled at him as I saw that he was trying to keep Brier entertained. I shifted and slowed down for them as I heald our six month old son, Corey on my right hip.

I smiled at Glenn as he made a funny face at Brier, causing her to laugh. "Maggie you okay? Do you want me to take him? Brier can walk beside us."

I nodded,"I'm fine and w should be stopping soon anyways."

He then whispered,"But I don't want you tiring yourself out you know? Just in case."

I shook my head,"I'm fine Glenn." I looked ahead of us to see that we were slowly trailing behind everyone. "We have to walk faster."

He nodded and we caught up within a minute or so. As we were walking Brier mumbled,"I hungwy ma."

Rick spoke up,"There is a storage building up ahead, we can stop there for the night. I know the little ones are tired."

I nodded,"Thank you Rick."

He nodded and we rushed over to the building. "Glenn Corey is sleeping so can we trade? I know that Brier is hungry."

He nodded and set Brier down and took Corey in his arms. I then bent down and extended my arms to Brier, to which she gladly filled the space. I hummed as I ran my fingers through her soft hair.

We quickly got inside and I smiled over at Beth who was playing with Aubrey. I smiled at them.

Because of the lack of food, I usually just breast feed Brier and Corey whenever I can but Brier still has the food option from time to time.

I quickly settled her on my lap and pulled my shirt down. She quickly started eating and before I knew it, she had fallen asleep. Glenn came over with a red-faced Corey. "I think that he is hungry to."

I nodded and he carefully took Brier and tucked her in. Corey started crying when I took him in my arms,"Hey you're okay baby. You don't need to cry."

I quickly fed him and let Glenn tuck him in beside his sister and we left to go and join in the group discussion.

"We have to go- I have to see." Rick was pinching the bridge of his nose.

I then watched as Daryl stood,"We are going. My little girl and my wife need a safe place to live. Brier and Corey need a safe place. It isn't safe out here and who knows maybe we will see people from our group there."

I knitted my eyebrows together and asked,"What are you guys talkin' about?"

Daddy spoke up,"A man, Aaron, turned up and told us about his community that he has. He calls it Alexandria and says that there are a lot of good people there."

I nodded,"We go and check it out then."

Rick shook his head,"How do we even know there is a community? If we go in there when we don't know, we die. And I don't want us to die." 

"We are good people and I know that you are to. We won't hurt you in any way, shape, or form. We have children and babies and yours will be welcome as well." He added motioning towards Aubrey in Daryl's arms and at Brier and Corey sleeping near our fire.

I watched as Glenn stood in the way, blocking his view of our sleeping children. I stepped closer and bent down in front of Aaron and harshly spoke,"You see those kids?" I motioned to Aubrey, Brier, and Corey causing him to nod. "If what we do hurts them in anyway, I will kill you. It is in your best interest to tell us right now if this is a trick because trust me, I am no stranger to killing."
