As Happy As Could Be (Stingue)

Sting's pov

Me and Rogue were hanging out at my house doing some homework, when Rogue got a text.

"I-I have to go." He said quickly.

I frowned. "Okay, see you later man." I said.

Rogue rushed out of my room. I walked down stairs to see him out because I'm a good host.

"Bye Rogue!! I'll see you tomorrow." I called.

Little did I know, that was the last time I'll see Rogue, for a long time.

Time skip

It's been four years since I last saw Rogue and I'm now in collage. I was aiming to be a teacher. I was attending SaberTooth Academy. It had the best program for teaching. I've been attending here for a year now. Me and my best friend Natsu were both aiming to be teachers. Natsu was a funny and crazy guy. The only person that could keep him in check was his boyfriend Grey. I was living in the dorms at SaberTooth while Natsu and Grey were renting an apartment in town.

I walked up to my classroom. Natsu was in the same class as me because we both, you know, want to be teachers. I let out a small sigh. I wasn't super excited. I mean, now I have to do homework and stuff again!! Oh well, that's life. I walked into my class and started setting up for class.

"Hello class, my name is Mr. Makarov. I will be your teacher for this year. Before we start, I would like to introduce the new student! And yes, this is necessary."

"Everyone this is Rogue Cheney." Mr. Makarov said. I felt like my heart had stopped. There, standing shyly in the doorway, was my long lost best friend.

"R-Rogue?" I said in shock. He didn't respond. He slowly walked up to the front of the class.

"H-Hi..." He said quietly. He shifted uncomfortably. I couldn't help but notice how hot Rogue was.  His black hair that seemed to shimmer in the light.... His beautiful red eyes that looked like rubies... His pretty pale skin... I blinked in surprise. Why am I thinking of this type of stuff?!?  I mean, I know I'm gay and all... But I haven't seen Rogue for four years!!! I can't just suddenly fall in love with him!!! I guess my High School crush on him never went away...

"Rogue, you can go sit next to Sting." The teacher said. I saw Rogue's eyes widen when he noticed me. He blinked a couple times, before he walked over to me and sat down. I wanted so badly to talk to him, demand where he went all those years ago, but I couldn't. Not in class.

Time skip

After what seemed like forever, class was finally over. I saw Rogue quickly gather his stuff up.

"Rogue wait!" I called out. He slowly turned around.

"Y-Yes?" He asked.

"Where did you go? Why did you leave me?" I demanded.

"I-I... C-Can we t-talk about t-this later Sting? P-Please?" He asked.

I huffed. "Fine. Meet me in front of the school at lunch." I said. I turned on my heel and headed to my next class.

Time skip

I walked out to the front of the school and saw Rogue waiting for me.

"Hey." I said.

"H-Hi..." He responded.

"Let's go to a cafe? K?" I said.

"Sure..." We walked in silence to a nearby cafe.

"I'd like a sandwich please." I said.

"And you sir?" The waitress asked.

"I-I'm not hungry." Rogue said quietly. The waitress left to get my order.

"So. You gonna tell me?" I asked impatiently. Rogue looked away.

"When I was at your house, I got a phone call..." He said.

"I know. I was there." I said.

"It was the police." He said. His voice was barely above a whisper. I blinked in surprise.

"My dad had been abusing me for years... Apparently one of our neighbors heard me... Um... Screaming the night before." I stared at him in horror. Rogue's dad had been abusing him?!?! How had I never noticed?!?

"He was arrested... But... I had no relatives that I could go to... So I had to go to an orphanage in Canada... I tried to phone you... But by the time I thought of doing it, I was already in Canada and I couldn't reach you... I want so badly to go home, I prayed every night that I would be adopted or something... That I'd somehow be able to reach you... Finally I was adopted. And then I came here." I stared at him in shock.

"My biggest regret was that I never got the chance to tell you..." Rogue started.

"Here's your sandwich sir." The waitress said.

I blinked in surprise. "O-Oh! Thank you." I said. I started eating. Rogue stayed quiet the whole time.

"Rogue... I'm sorry for being so cold to you. I shouldn't have done that." I apologized.

"I-It's fine..." Rogue said. I put some money on the table.

"We should head back." We were walking back to school, when I remembered something.

"You were trying to tell me something?" I asked

"I-I... I-It was nothing..." He said.

I stopped. "Rogue, there's something that I've wanted to do for a long time now." I said.

Rogeu looked at me confused. "What is it St- Mmph!!!" I cut him off by placing my lips on his.

I pulled away. "S-Sorry!! I-I..." I couldn't find the words. I stood there nervously.

Rogue turned to look at me. His face was bright red. "Sting... Do you... Do you like me?" He asked.

"More like love you..." I mumbled. I was thinking of running right there and then, but I wanted to hear what Rogue had to say.

"Sting... I... I love you too..." He said. I looked at him in surprise. He was looking at the ground, his face a cherry red. I walked towards him and cupped his cheek.

"Good to know." I said.  I leaned in and kissed him again. This time though, I didn't pull away right away.

I moved my lips slowly against his. His lips were soft and he tasted like chocolate. He started kissing back. Our lips moved as one. I slid my tongue across his lips and he hesitantly opened them. I slipped my tongue in. I sucked on his tongue a little bit and Rogue let out a small moan. I finally pulled away for air. We were both panting a little.

I wrapped my arm around his waist and pulled him against me. I then proceeded to kiss him again. This time it was more heated and passionate. He wrapped his arms around my neck. I heard someone in the back round yelled "Faggots!!" And I promptly flipped him off. I heard a couple of people gasp at that and I grinned against Rogue's lips. We pulled away again. I put my forehead against his.

"I love you..." I mumbled.

"Love you too." Rogue said back. I was the happiest I had ever been. I was so happy that Rogue was back in my life.

Epilogue

Me and Rogue finished collage. I became a teacher and Rogue was a writer. A year after we got together, I proposed. Rogue said yes of course. A year later, we adopted two kids. One was a redhead named Lector. The other was a greenette named Frosch. She had a slight obsession with frogs, but she was very cute.

I think Rogue fell in love with her. Rogue was the stay at home 'Mom'.  And we were as happy as could be.

Well, that ending was super cheesy... I hope you enjoyed the first official one shot!!! I'm surprised that I managed to keep it only one chapter tho. Next will most likely be a chapter preview. Maybe.
