Emily's POV
We pulled up to Greg's house and saw almost everyone's cars parked out front already. Cassandra had agreed to bring Mavi and do the picture that we needed before heading back to Vancouver. The interview with Ellen was now scheduled and we would have to come back to LA in the next couple of weeks.
Stephen helped me out of the car because he was back to being his overly precautious self, but that was one of the reasons I loved him so much. We walked inside and Greg was standing with David and Colton in the kitchen and everyone else was out back.
Once the girls saw me they ran over and started asking about the babies. We hadn't been able to talk much at the meeting and now they were bombarding me with questions about names and due dates and all kinds of other things. Stephen joined the guys in the kitchen and I went and sat around the fire pit with Katie and Willa.
"So have you guys talked names? I'm sure Stephen will want to name one of them Stephen if you have a boy right?" Katie asked.
I shook my head. "We've been playing around with a few names, but Stephen only wants to name a boy after himself if we have a boy and a girl. He said it wouldn't be fair to two boys if only one was named after their dad." I explained.
They nodded in agreement.
"I guess that makes sense. What about naming one Stephen and the other Adam? If they're both boys." Willa suggested.
I tilted my head. "I actually hadn't thought of that. I'll have to remember to run it past him."
"And what about girls? God, I can't wait until you guys know!" Willa exclaimed.
"For girls we've decided to use our mom's names. So it all depends on if it's one girl or two. If it's two, one will be named after my mom and the other after Stephen's. If we have one girl, then she will be named after both we just haven't decided if it will be Sandra Diane Amell or Diane Sandra Amell." I said.
They smiled. "This is so exciting. I really am glad that you both were able to work all of your problems out. I heard that Cassandra may be coming over today?" Katie asked.
I nodded. "She will be bringing Mavi by and we have to take a picture for the PR team. They would like me to post something to keep the rumors at bay for now until Stephen and I can set the record straight."
We talked for a while longer before we heard the doorbell. I went inside to join Stephen, I walked in to see Cassandra and Mavi. Mavi ran up to me and I picked her up carefully.
"Hey. Thanks for coming." I said to Cassandra.
She nodded. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
She gestured outside which I took as a conversation that she wanted to have in private.
"Sure. Come on Mav, let's go to Dada." I handed her over to Stephen and joined Cassandra out front.
"Everything okay?" I asked closing the front door.
She nodded her head. "I just want to be out of here as soon as possible. I know I'm only here for this picture and I can come back for Maverick later."
"I mean if that's what you want to do that's fine, but no one is going to have a problem with you being here. I was hoping that maybe we could start to build a different relationship dynamic for this family. We are going to be a part of each other's lives forever. I'm not going anywhere and I wouldn't expect anything less from you because Mav is your daughter." I sympathized with her. I knew how awkward this situation felt because I used to be the one that didn't belong. He was married to her and I was the one that he fell in love with and couldn't let go of.
