Emily's POV
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
She looked to Fanta. "Mind if we talk in private?"
I nodded at Fanta assuring her it was okay and she left without another word.
"Do you want to sit down?" I said gesturing to the couch.
She shook her head. "No. This will be quick."
"Okay..." I waited for her to continue.
She grabbed a picture of Stephen and I from SDCC and sighed. "I've never seen him this happy."
I raised my eyebrows. I didn't trust Andrea, especially after everything that I had heard her say to Stephen.
"But?" I added.
She turned to me and smiled. "Smart girl."
I rolled my eyes. "Can you just get on with it Andrea? I have to get ready to go to work."
She set the picture down. "He's happy, I can't deny that, but this isn't going to last Emily, deep down you know this. He had a marriage, a life, before you and he let that all go for you, but you don't seem to be bothered by that? It confuses me, I don't understand why you would fall into this so fast with him, I mean having kids with him? Are you that naïve to think that he won't go back to the stability he had with Cass? You're 10 years younger than him, he fell for the chase, and you trapped him."
There it was. My breaking point.
"I trapped him? Huh. That's funny, because as I recall in our relationship he's the one that pushed for us to go public, he's the one that decided to call a lawyer and make it the worst birthday surprise, he's the one that made me his daughter's guardian, I didn't ask for any of it, but you would know all of this if he trusted you that much, but you weren't there. He didn't call you when he found out we were pregnant, he called Drew, he called your mom, but not you. You've always wanted to control his life, Andrea. I know this because even before we were together, we were close friends, he confided in me all of the time. So please don't walk in here and act like you know anything about my relationship with Stephen, because you don't." She stood there shocked that I would actually stand up to her.
It took her a minute before she came up with a response.
"So then why did he rush me here tonight to talk? I had to cancel my flight to be here because what he needs to talk about is so important." She was trying to turn everything around on me, but I was smarter than that.
I chuckled. "You really want to know why you're here? Stephen thinks I don't know that he called you, or why, but I do and it's not to tell you that he made a mistake."
"Then what is it?" I could easily tell that she was scared of what would be the next thing out of my mouth.
"Hey babe did you—" Stephen walked into the trailer and looked back and forth between me and Andrea.
"Andrea? What are you doing here?" He questioned.
He passed her and stood by me.
"I just came to check on Emily, and see how the pregnancy was going for her, brother. No worries." She smiled.
"Is that right?" He asked me.
I nodded. "Yes. She wanted to see if we could go shopping together once we know what we're having." I lied. I didn't want her to see me as weak, I wanted her to know that I could stand up for myself and didn't need Stephen to fight my battles.
Stephen smiled nervously, I then realized that as soon as she was gone, I was going to have to tell him the truth. I just hoped I got called to set before that happened.
Stephen's POV
Once I got Andrea out of Emily's trailer I began to question her.
"What were you really doing with Emily?" I asked.
She didn't say a word until we were in my trailer and the tears began to fall.
"Andrea? What's going on?" I asked worried.
She rested her head on my shoulder and I let her calm down before asking again.
"What happened?" I asked.
She wiped her tears before answering. "I went to Emily, to try and build a relationship with her. I wanted to prove to you that I could change and accept her. After your call I got to thinking and it worried me that you were going to push me away, but when I went to see her she came off aggressive and accused me of never being there for you."
I furrowed my brows. "That sounds nothing like Emily. I'm sure you—"
She cut me off. "So you're calling me a liar?"
I shook my head. "No. I'm only suggesting that you might've misunderstood what she was trying to say to you."
She stood up angrily and walked to the door. "I can't believe that you are going to take her side over mine, this would've never happened with Cass."
"Of course it never would've happened with Cass, because you were always up her ass and fought with me instead of her! I was always in the wrong when it came to that dysfunctional marriage!" I shouted.
"It was only dysfunctional because you were already screwing Emily!" She yelled back.
I rolled my eyes.
"You see-this-this right here, is how I know Emily didn't do shit to you and if she said any of what you just told me it was because you provoked her."
She threw her hands up. "Seriously Steve. What the hell does she have that makes you act so damn stupid?!"
"I love her Andrea. She is the only person that I have ever truly loved. I don't know what it was that I had with Cassandra, but with Emily things are different, she actually trusts me and has faith in me, she's great with Maverick, I couldn't ask for anything better." I spoke straight from the heart.
She shook her head, still not giving in. "You had a marriage, Steve. A life, I just don't see how you could let it all go, you didn't even fight for Cassandra, you didn't fight for Mavi's family."
I stopped her right there. "No. Don't tell me that I didn't try or fight because Emily made me. She sent me on that trip to Texas with Cassandra, to try and save my marriage. She set me free and I came back to her because that's what I wanted."
"I don't believe that."
I took a breath. "What the hell do you want me to say then? Obviously all I'm doing is wasting my breath because you aren't going to believe anything that isn't what you want to hear."
"You know what, you're right, you are wasting your breath because all of it is a delusion, give me a call when you come to your senses."
She slammed the door behind her and I didn't go after her instead I waited until I was sure she was gone and went to check on Emily.
"Em?" I said walking into what looked like an empty trailer.
"Stephen?" I heard a soft whimper and I looked around the couch to see her lying on the ground holding her stomach.
I rushed to her side. "Emily!"
"Something's wrong." She cried. I quickly pulled out my phone and dialed 911.
Soon I heard the sirens and was pushed aside by paramedics as they loaded her into the ambulance. I hopped in and took her hand.
"I'll take care of everything. Don't worry." Were the last words I heard from Willa before the doors shut and we were headed to the hospital.
