The last few days had been pure bliss, spending all hours with Luce in my arms, talking about our favorites and life, the endless possibilities and wishes were told. Today I woke up realizing it was the day before Christmas Eve, almost New Years. Thinking back on the last few months made me happy that I met Luce. She has turned my world around without even noticing. Luce sat cross-legged on the couch reading a Jane Austen novel that she couldn't put down. Her baggy sweater covering her pajama shorts. I watch her fingers twist the locks of her black hair while biting her bottom lip as she read.
Feeling bored, I try to get her attention. I would annoy her in any way possible, but then she would ignore me and continue with her book. I finally make a bold move by ripping the book from her grasp.
"Niall." she yells. "Give it back!" I place the book underneath my back as she climbed on top of me.
I laugh at her weak attempts, I could tell she was enjoying this as well.
"Are you gonna keep ignoring me?"
"Yes."
"In that case." I trap her wrist in my hands and tackled her to the couch, the book fell from beneath me to the floor. Luce shrieks as I pin her down to the couch with me on top of her.
"I guess I'll just have to do this." I move my hand to her ribs and started tickling.
"Hahahaha!" she laughs, "Niall, no, stop it!" she tries fighting back, but fails miserably.
"Hey, not on the couch!" we snap our head to where Nana stood in her button up blue shirt and her white jeans, a light lavender floral colored apron wrapped around her waist.
"Nana!" I see Luce's face flush with embarrassment, "we weren't doing anything."
"Then explain what this is." she frowns at us.
"Well...Uh, we were just-"
"Fooling around?" she smirks.
"Not in that way."
"Mm, sure." she picks up her purse from the closet and swings it on her arm. "Anyway, you both better get packing before three, otherwise you find your own transportation to the cabin."
"Yes sir." I laugh.
"I'll see you two later."
"Wait, Nana!?" I yell, she turns and listens. "Is Greg coming with us?" she nods with a faint smile, almost as if she felt bad for me.
Nana leaves from the front door to get to her little bug car. I start feeling tense thinking about the possibilities that could happen if Greg was gonna be there.
"Niall?" Luce's sweet voice filled my ears, then I suddenly felt at ease.
"Yes Angel?" she stands up from the couch and wobbles to me, I let her leaning to me, wrapping my arms loosely around her slim waist.
"You seem a bit tense." she says.
"It's nothing." I twirl my index finger in her hair.
"Niall, you should at least try to make amends with him, maybe he's changed."
"Soon, maybe, but I can't just forgive him. Ten years Luce. He has to make up for lost time."
"Niall, he loves you, he never meant to hurt you, he hates himself as much as you hate him." I start tensing again, even more out of anger.
"We should start packing." I walk away, my head hung low, ashamed of myself for looking like a coward.
