Niall's p.o.v
It's five minutes till six mad I'm a nervous wreck. I planned out this date carefully step by step, and I know what to do and say; but I can't stop my nerves from bouncing all over the place."Get a hold of yourself Niall!" I argued, standing on the back porch in a thick cream colored sweater and khans starts at my white converse with a bouquet of red and pearly white rose, decorated with a white ribbon holding the stems together.
I glance at my watch impatiently, seeing that it was 5:57, she would be here any minute. I had Nana keep her bust at the green house until it was time. Now I'm starting to regret my decision, thinking that Nana would keep her hostage in that house for another hour or more. I sigh nervously, I turn red when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turn to see Luce in the outfit I bought her. I didn't say anything, for I was too mesmerized by her beautiful sight that the words were replaced with nothing but air. She smiles, standing awkwardly as my eyes admired the dress that favored around her knees.
"What is it? She asks
"You're beautiful!" I say with no hesitation, she smiles her cheeks turning into a soft pint of color matching her lips.
"Thank you." She glanced to the roses I have clutched in my hand, "Are those for me?"
I lift up the bouquet for her to examine, "Actually, no." She frowns in confusion, "Luce, before we do anything else, there is something I want to show you." She nods.
"And what is that?"
I smirk at her, leaning to kiss her cheek, my hands placed at her waist. "That's for me to know, and for you to find out." I whispered in her ear, grinning when goosebumps formed on her arms when she shivers.
"Come on." I grasp her small hand into mine, interlocking our fingers as I took her throughout the house and out the front door with Luce following me and a bouquet of blood red roses.
**********
I use my dad's old truck that we'd never used as much, it will come in handy for tonight.
"Are we there yet?" Luce complains for the fifth time, and I have been counting.
So far we had been in this beat up truck for an hour and a half, and she couldn't be anymore restless. "Just a couple more minutes."
"That's what you said a couple of minutes ago."
I roll my eyes trying to ignore an argument when I finally saw our destination on the side of the highway, where a line of iron fences surrounding the area.
"Niall, this is a cemetery." She stated looking at the the small patch of gravestones and angelic statues covered in grime and mold as they stand still, clasping their hands in prayer.
"I know," I turned off the vehicle and shoved the keys into my pocket before climbing out of the truck. I went to the passengers side and opened the car door to help Luce out.
"Why are we here?" I ignored her question and help her out on my black blazer to secure her from the chilly weather. The blazer was a bit baggy on her; the cuffs of the sleeves reaching to her fingertips. I grabbed the bouquet of roses from her seat and grasped her hand in mine after I locked the car.
"Let's go," I say leading her past the iron gates and into a sorrow filled place of tears and heartbreak. Since it was November, leaves we're browning and falling off the branches, floating towards the dead grass below them. I feel Luce tense as we got closer to where our destination was.
"Niall." She asked nervously.
"Shh," I hushed her as we past by a small group dressed in black with glum faces surrounding a maple wood casket. "We don't want to distrust their privacy," I say in a hushed tone. She nods in response and stays quite until her breath hitches when we stop in front of two graves standing side by side. I step closer to the graves with the roses in my hand kneeling in front of a vase full of dead flowers. All of the petals brown and withered away on the grass. I take them by the stems and replace it with the bouquet adding a pop of color in a gray environment.
