Monday morning, Liam picked us up for school, the whole drive was uncomfortable, Luce wouldn't even let me hold her hand. Liam probably noticed because of the tension filled in his truck. This continued for what felt like forever, even when we were around the boys they noticed a thin line between us.
Louis walked with us to English, which was our first class, trying to pick up a good conversation. We walk in the class, I feel her hand clasp mine tightly, I don't say anything until we sit down in our seats.
"Hey, I'm sorry that I snapped at you." She says nothing, but tightens her grip on my hand, "Angel?" I shake her. She glances at me with a nervous look. "Don't worry, you're forgiven."
"What's wrong then?" I look around to see the class whispering and peering towards us. I understand now, she's scared, scared of this place, I know how that feels.
"Oh, hey just ignore them." I place a peck on her cheek, she grins, but I could tell that she was faking it.

"So Luce, I hear your birthday is coming up soon." Louis speaks up from across the lunch table, chewing on a barbecue pulled pork sandwich.
Luce glared at me, "You told them!"
I put my hands up, "Hey, in my defense, Louis kept bribing me."
"For what?"
"He said he would shut up for the rest of the week, if he didn't succeed he would give me fifty bucks."
"Starting tomorrow!" Louis yelled, "anyway, are we going to have to throw a party for you?"
"No you don't have to..."
"Are you kidding, it's your birthday, why not have a party?" He asks her.
"I've never had a party." she replies.
"What?!" Louis shrieks, "You're turning nineteen and you've never had a birthday party?"
"I've never been fond of parties, when I was little I was picked on."
"It can be a small party," I add in, "It could be just us six, that's all."
She nods, "I'm okay with that, but please, no surprises, I hate surprises."
We all nod in agreement. "We are gonna make this the best birthday party ever!" Louis yells, everyone turns to glare at him.
"Niall?" I hear a softer voice speak behind me, turning around I see Gina standing next to us. Her blond hair in a high pony tail, an orange tank top, fitting her torso, and dark wash skinny jeans hugging her hips. "Can I talk to you?" I feel Luce stiffen beside me, the other guys staring awkwardly at our encounter.
"Sure." I stand up, squeezing Luces' hand. Gina turns around, flicking her pony tail as she walks; I follow carefully. She doesn't lead me too far from the cafeteria, which I feel relieved about.
"What do you want Gina?" I ask a bit harshly. She turns back around.
"I wanted to say I'm sorry." she stares at the floor.
"For?"
"Everything, Dylan, Luce, and how I treated her. I'm sorry for what I did." I stare at her, there had to be another reason.
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to, now tell me the real reason why you needed to talk to me." She sighs, checking the hall to see if anyone was there.
"It's Dylan." she whispers.
"Yeah?"
"You have to keep Luce away from him." Her words caught me off guard.
