Luce came to work with me the next day with some lunch she made at home. Yes, it was a school day, and we weren't suppose to be here, but when we woke up, we didn't want to deal with the lads asking us endless questions. And also Dylan watching Luce with lust filled eyes.
I called Paul after breakfast to tell him that I could work for the afternoon. He was hesitant at first, but then he said it was alright; now we are here, eating turkey and cheese sandwiches, with a bowl full of fresh fruit.
"This fruit is really good." I took a bite off of a combination of a pineapple and a strawberry.
"Thanks, Nana taught me."
"I didn't know you could cook."
"You don't know me that well." She pushed a chunk of watermelon between her pale pink lips, taking small bites of the juicy fruit.
"I've been wanting to ask you something."
"What do you want to ask?"
"Thanksgiving is in a couple of weeks, and every year we go to our cabin for the holiday season, it's basically our holiday home. So we were thinking that maybe you would like to come with us?"
"Well, actually, I was planning to stay alone in the house for the holiday, but I would love to go to the cabin." She pecked my lips "I can't wait." She smiled.
I glance at the clock hanging on the wall, "I have to get back to work, I'll see you at six." She nodded, throwing away the remaining content of the sandwiches and put a lid onto the bowl, before leaving she turned to kiss my lips softly.
"Don't be late." She kissed my cheek, carrying the light weight bowl in her arms, then walked out the door.

I twisted the door knob to the house and instantly smelled a delicious aroma of sizzling steak.
"I'm home!" I yelled into the hallway. Nana popped her head through the doorway of the kitchen.
"Over here Niall." She squeals, I drop my bag onto too the floor along with my keys and jacket, then strolled to the kitchen. Different smells filled my nostrils every time I breathed in, making my mouth water as I entered the kitchen. Luce stood next to the stove, steaming strips of red, green, and yellow bell peppers, on a frying pan. Nana had been grilling sirloin steak, seasoning every now and then.
"What are you guys doing?" I asked Nana
"We are making dinner," she replied, using the tongs to flip the meat over, "Luce suggested the recipe."
"What is it?"
"Chopped steak and peppers over rice." Luce said, my face turned to a frown, "want to help?" She smiled, I put up a fake smile. "Can't, but I bet it will taste good."
"I don't remember the last time we had this meal." Nana smiled, "Niall was the one who made this recipe when he was a child."
"Nana, you're spacing out again," I laughed, "yell when you guys are done." I dashed out of the room to the stairs, almost as if I was running away.

Luce's P.O.V. (Yay!)
"Did I do something wrong?" I say when Niall dashed out of the room suddenly.
"No dear, it's not you." Nana weakly smiled, "it's been a long time since we had this meal." She said the sentence quietly to herself.
"Is there a reason why?"
She hesitated a bit, "Niall made this meal for his older brother Greg," I stare at her in shock, seeing her tense up when she said his name. "It was before the accident, Greg and Niall were inseparable when they were little. Just like best friends, he looked up to him, and trusted him..." She trailed off at the thought with a warm smile on her face, "now all he ever does is curse at his name when it is mentioned."
