"So have you guys got a date for prom?" Louis asks, did he say prom?"It's been going on for a few weeks Ni. They announced the candidates for prom on Monday."
"Who?"
"Who else, you mean? Of course Gina, is gonna be crowned queen, the others don't matter." Louis speaks up.
"What's the theme?" I ask
"Heavenly Grace," Louis says, mocking a soft angelic voice, "I swear the themes get crappier every year."
He's not wrong, the prom committee was in control of Ms. Heaves, the physics teacher. She tries to make each prom better than the last, but really she goes overboard. Two years ago she spent ten thousand dollars just for food and entertainment; let me tell you, because of how much money she spent, it forced the school to cut the budget for the Fine Arts: including drama, choir, band etc. And because of that, parents complained and eventually it lead to the police. She was under suspicion of theft until proved otherwise, but now she can't go over three thousand.
"So back to my question, have you guys found dates?"
"I don't think I'm going." I speak up.
"That's understandable, who would want to go to these crappy dances?" Liam laughs.
"What about you Zayn?"
Zayn smiles, "I have something to tell you guys."
"What is it?" Harry asked.
"I'm going to ask Perrie to marry me." He whispers.
"Zayn that's amazing, how long have you been thinking about this?" Harry whispers, keeping other peoples attention away from us.
"Well, we've been talking about it for a while. And we have been dating ever since freshman year, she means a lot to me, and I want to prove that to her."
"You got a ring?" I say, he leans over, opening his bag and pulling out a worn out white leather box. He opens the lid revealing a brilliant silver ring, polished to perfection, and one huge diamond stood on it with other little diamonds surrounding it.
"Zayn, this must cost a fortune." Louis exclaims.
"Actually, this is my grandmas ring, she gave it to me before she passed away. I did have to get it polished and resized though." We stare at the ring in awe.
"Congrats!" I smile. The boys continue their banter, talking about graduation and our futures. I stare on, remembering the little motto Zayn would tell us every time we felt down.
'Life is a roller coaster; you have your ups and downs, and you also have your twists and turns that catch you off guard and make you dizzy. But always remember to hold onto the ups, even through the downs and the twists, always hold onto it. Because precious moments like those are worth the ride.'

I was sitting on the leather couch in the living room working on my English and Physics; if I want to ace those exams in a few weeks, I got to hit the books hard.
After a while, I started to get bored of reading page after page of class notes and reviews. I wanted to see Luce, but both Nan and Mrs. Lee agree that I should focus more on school and my health. I can't blame them though, I have lost quite a bit of pounds over the last month from not eating healthy. I should work on that.
"Niall?" I turn to the small woman, standing in the doorway to the kitchen.
"Nan?" I take notice of the two rectangular boxes she carried on her hip. One looked more ancient than the other, torn at one of the corners and water stains on the cardboard. The box below it was brand new, a complete opposite.
"I want to show you something." She strides over and graciously sits next to me. I look at her surprised, just yesterday she couldn't talk to me normally, now here she is. Not that I'm complaining, it's really nice. "I heard prom was coming up in a couple of weeks."
"Two weeks on Friday."
She grins handing me the aged box from her lap. "Anyway, I have a suit for you."
"Nan, no, I don't want it."
"Why not?"
"I don't think I'm going, the boys want me to; but I just don't feel it. Sorry you spent your money on it."
"Actually Niall, I didn't buy this one. it's your fathers actually." She places the box on my lap, gently opening the lid for me.
"What?" I say, helping her uncover the suit.
"It's old yes, but I did a few touch ups and some sewing. It almost looks brand new."
I observe the suit, every inch reminding me of him. "I miss them Nan."
"I miss them too dear." she rubs my back for comfort. After a second I realize there is another box on her lap.
"What's in that one?"
"This one is for Luce, I got it for her a couple weeks ago from a friend." She opens the lid of the box, setting it down to the other side of her on the couch. Beneath the lid was a pile of white tissue paper. She bunches them up in her hand placing them next to the lid. Then she lifts up a ruby red dress from the box, standing up showing the length that went past her feet, leaving a couple of inches dragging on the floor.
I observe the chiffon fabric with a sweetheart neckline and lace long sleeves. Nana turns it around to show the diamond shape hole to show off the owners back. The lace connecting at the top and the rest of the fabric at the bottom.
The A-line dress screamed Luce, the color would bring out her skin and eyes and it would sculpted her body shape amazingly. It was an elegant and beautiful dress, perfect for Luce.
"I thought she would love it." Nana said, I nod in agreement.
"I bought it for prom." she smiles softly at the dress.
"Yeah, of course."
If she ever wakes up.

The quote I put in this chapter is not plagiarized. I know it seems that way, but I swear this came from my own brain. I'm sorry if it isn't original, but I promise you I had no idea. I say this now because there are some people out there who like to ruin stuff for other people. So I hope you guys understand that the quote I put in here is my original.
On a better note, this story is coming to a close. And you should expect more coming soon. Just a few more chapters left.
