NBA ONE SHOTS

Long Distance (Ben Simmons) -Hayley-

Wassup everyone? This one is for SouthAfrioneQueen ! I was really excited to write my first Ben Simmons one shot so I hope I don't disappoint (:

-Hayley's POV-

"Hayley, you've got to come with me down to LSU today. There's a game this afternoon and I want you to meet a friend of mine,"D'Angelo insisted, grabbing my hands.

I sighed,"Okay, fine. This friend better be cool." "He is, I promise,"D'Angelo said.

That afternoon, D'Angelo and I made our way over to LSU.

"So whose this friend of yours?"I asked as we sat in the stands in the gym.

"I'll show you who he is when the players come out. His name is Ben Simmons though,"he replied. I nodded, although the name was not ringing any bells in my mind.

Once the players started warming up, D'Angelo leaned over and said,"He's the one over there shooting, in the number 25 jersey."

I looked over at Ben. "He's really cute,"I said.

D'Angelo laughed and pushed me slightly. "Fuck outta here,"he mumbled.

I shrugged and retorted,"Not my fault he's good looking! You should take some notes."

"You know this is going to end up with me embarrassing you in front of Ben, right?"D'Angelo smirked. "Don't you dare,"I said as the game started.

Ben was really good. He was making a lot of good plays. And what makes it even better is that he's extremely good looking.

After the game, which LSU won, Ben came up to D'Angelo and I in the stands. He greeted D'Angelo with a handshake and then saw me. I gave him a smile.

D'Angelo introduced,"Ben, this is my best friend Hayley. Hay, this is Ben."

"Nice to meet you,"Ben said, shaking my hand. I replied,"You too."

"I saw you in the stands and I was really hoping you weren't D'Angelo's girlfriend,"Ben chuckled.

"And why's that?"I asked.

He flirted,"Because I think you're really beautiful and don't want you to be anyone's girl except mine."

"Woah Ben, back off,"D'Angelo said, pushing him away from me.

I laughed,"You a flirty one, huh Ben?" "Not typically, just for you,"he responded, making me blush a bit.

D'Angelo, Ben, and I talked for a while before heading to the parking lot of LSU.

Ben leaned against D'Angelo's car and asked,"So Hayley, will you go on a date with me? I'd love to get to know you more."

D'Angelo mumbled,"Keep flirting and ignoring me." I ignored him and said,"Sure Ben. That sounds good."

"Okay, thanks. Can I have your number?"he asked. I gave him my phone number before D'Angelo and I left.

Ben and I went on a few dates over the next 2 weeks, and I got to know him better and better. He was just the sweetest and funniest person ever, as well as being flirty as fuck.

But I didn't tell him that I was going back to Toronto. You see, I was just visiting D'Angelo in the United States. I actually go to university in Toronto, and I have to go back in 2 days. I was only in America for two weeks.

I was at a restaurant with Ben, just talking about basketball, when Ben changed the subject.

"Hayley, we've only been dating for about 2 weeks now, but I already know that you and I are meant for each other. I know we're not official, so I want to make it official. Will you be my girlfriend?"

I struggled to speak. Ben had so much hope in his eyes, and I didn't want to let him down. But I'm leaving. I can't just not let him know that.

I cleared my throat and spoke,"Ben, I'd love to be your girlfriend, but I can't. I'm leaving for Toronto in 2 days. We would never see each other."

Ben's face dropped so fast. It made me so upset seeing him so sad. He insisted,"We can make a long distance relationship work. Trust me, Hayley."

I bit my lip before looking into his pleading eyes. "Okay, fine Ben. I really want this to work, so I'm willing to give it a chance,"I said.

Ben leaned over the table and kissed me. "You won't regret this. I promise, Hayley."

-5 Months Later-

"Yes, you have been accepted as a Victoria's Secret model,"the woman on the phone said.

I had to do my extreme best not to start screaming right then. My modelling career has finally taken off. I've been waiting for this for so long now, and it has finally happened.

"Thank you so much. I look forward to this,"I said as calmly as I could.

"You will be located in Philadelphia as a model. We will give you more details later today. Just start packing, as we have gotten you a flight to Philadelphia in two days."

That's where Ben has recently moved... Oh my god.

"Okay, thank you so much once again,"I breathed. "No problem, have a good day now." "You too,"I replied before hanging up.

I squealed, jumping up and down. Not only do I have a job as a model with an amazing company, I will be moving to where Ben is. I have to tell him now.

I quickly called Ben and he answered,"Wassup Hay?" I smiled at his voice.

"I just got the greatest news, Ben." "What is it?"he asked.

I announced,"I got a job with Victoria's Secret as a model!"

Ben exclaimed,"That's great, Hayley! Oh my god. I'm so proud of you!"

"And you know what the best part is? I'm going to be moving to Philly,"I smiled. "For real?"he asked.

I laughed,"Yeah, I'm going to be with you, Ben." "Oh my god. That's the most amazing thing I've ever heard,"he said.

I giggled,"I'll see you in 2 days, baby." "I can't wait to hug you and kiss you,"he mumbled.

-2 Days Later-

I was taking a taxi over to Ben's apartment, and I was so excited. Ben had insisted on coming to the airport and picking me up himself, but I told him that I would just take a taxi over.

Once I was at his apartment, I knocked on the door. Ben opened it and I quickly embraced him in a hug.

"I missed you so much,"I mumbled into his shirt. Ben whispered,"I missed you more." I felt him place a kiss on top of my head.

I pulled away from the hug and just looked at his face. Oh how I missed seeing him in person.

Ben leaned down and kissed me. "Hayley, we both have our dream jobs and are living in the same city. This couldn't be better,"Ben said.

I smiled, nodding. Ben's right. This definitely couldn't be better.
