-Madison's POV-

Beep!

I picked up my phone, knowing I had a text. It was from my boyfriend, Ricky. It said: Madisonnnnn! I'm bored. Can I come over?

I laughed and replied: of course😂

Ricky was at my house about 10 minutes later. We were just sitting on the couch and I was trying to learn Spanish from him. It was quite funny because Ricky was so unimpressed with my language skills.

"You know what, Mr. Basketball Player? We aren't all as great as you. I'm sorry, okay?"I joked, slightly pushing him.

Ricky laughed. "I'm sorry too,"he replied, making me roll my eyes. "You suck,"I huffed.

"No hay necesidad de estar enojado,"he replied.

I mumbled,"Okay, now you're just showing off."

Ricky laughed and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my forehead and explained to me what he said. "I said there's no need to be angry, Madison."

I nodded. "That sounded way hotter in Spanish,"I said. He smiled and replied,"Too bad you don't know Spanish."

I huffed and said,"You know what, I'm better than you at a lot of things, okay? First of all, better at English. And second, I'm better at basketball."

I was obviously bluffing, but I was ready to say anything and everything to prove to Ricky that I was better than him.

Before we were dating, we were best friends. Now we're best friends and boyfriend and girlfriend. We're always competitive with each other. Competitive nature is just something we both have. Something like tying a shoe sparks competition between us.

Ricky said,"You did not just say you were better at basketball than me."

I nodded confidently. "Yes I did."

"Mads, you're crazy,"he shook his head.

I crossed my arms. "I guess there's only one way to find out,"I shrugged.

Ricky laughed. "This must be a joke. But whatever, let's go outside and play a game of one on one,"he decided. I nodded.

We walked outside to my driveway where my hoop was set up. I grabbed my basketball out of the garage and said,"I get first ball. First person to 21 wins." Ricky replied,"Fine with me."

We positioned ourselves. The only thing between me and the hoop was Ricky. If I can get past him, I'll get the point because I would never miss a layup.

I dribbled the ball out of Ricky's reach and made as much body contact with him as I could before quickly spinning. That created some space between Ricky and I, and I went for a layup. I smiled as the ball bounced on the rim and then went straight through.

I passed Ricky the ball and got into defensive position. "Come on Ricky. You can't lose to me, can you?"I asked, a smirk playing on my lips.

"Don't be so confident that you'll win, Madison,"Ricky said, dribbling the ball.

I reached for it but he quickly switched the ball to the other hand and ran, making me almost fall. I rolled my eyes as Ricky laughed. "That was so easy,"he said.

"You know what? Your accent isn't even that hot,"I huffed, snatching the ball out of his hands.

Ricky laughed and pinched my cheek. "Aw, is the poor baby mad?"he cooed.

I pushed his hand away. "D up. I ain't no baby,"I muttered.

I dribbled right past Ricky before he was ready and banked in the shot. I smiled. "This is going to be a fun game, huh Ricky?"

-20 Minutes Later-

"Okay Ricky, the score's tied. 20-20. Next point wins. And it's my ball,"I said.

Ricky replied,"Yes, I know Maddie. I've been here the whole time, haven't I?"

"Shut your mouth,"I mumbled.

"I know you love this mouth,"he responded with a smirk. My mouth opened to shoot back with a response of my own, but Ricky spoke. "Stop being so bitter and play,"he said.

I started dribbling the ball. "I'll do whatever I wanna do,"I replied before making an attempt to run to the basket.

Ricky poked the ball away from me and took hold of it. Laughing, he ran to the basket and laid it up.

I sat down on the concrete and pouted. Ricky grabbed the ball before sitting down next to me. "It's okay baby. You tried,"he said, kissing my cheek.

I mumbled,"I'm still better than you."

Ricky laughed, putting his arm around me. "Whatever you say, babe."
