"I like your house better than my house!" I exclaim to Bella as we both settle down on her couch to watch Romeo and Juliet. It's a quarter after nine and our parents just left. Bella's really pretty for her age. She has brown hair and chocolate brown eyes, and pale skin, whereas I have brown hair with blonde highlights and green eyes and my skin is a little tanner from living in New York.
She laughs. "But you practically live in a castle!"
I pretend to pout. "Castles are too big for my likings."
Bella grins, shaking her head. "I hope you don't mind, but I invited my friend Jacob Black and my boyfriend Edward Cullen."
I shrug. "I don't mind. They're just two teenage boys.
For some reason, Bella stiffens at that. Did I say something wrong? Before I can ask her if I offended her in anyway, the doorbell rings, and she immediately brightens up.
"That must be the boys," she says, getting off of the couch. "Do you want to answer it with me?
I lie down, taking up the whole  couch and faking a yawn. "Nope, you go ahead. I have to catch up on my beauty sleep."
Bella smirks. "Well, I'm not really going to give you a choice, Tessa," she says.
"What do you-" I'm caught in surprise by somebody pulling me off the couch. I let out a groan as my face hits the floor. Bella giggles.
"Come on, lazy butt!"
"You're so going to get it," I mutter rising to my feet and following her to the front door.
"Hey, guys!" Bella exclaims, flinging open to front door. I gasp as I see two breathtaking boys. One has bronze colored hair, pale skin, and gold eyes. The other one has black hair, tanned skin, and brown eyes.
"They're so-" I start, but Bella shoots a warning glare at me, causing me to shut my mouth. The boy with bronze hair chuckles.
"Edward, this is Tessa," Bella says, pointing to the bronze haired boy. "Tessa, this is Jacob," she says, pointing to the boy with black hair.
I blush when Jacob winks at me, and I allow Edward to go inside with Bella.
"Aren't you coming in?" I ask Jacob.
He nods. "Yeah." I close the door after him and we both make our way to the living room.
"Bella, we need to talk," he says, and I watch with wide eyes as Bella reluctantly follows after Jacob, leaving me alone with her boyfriend Edward Cullen.
I grin as an idea comes to me.
"What's the happy face for, Tessa?" Edward asks me.
I leap off the couch. "That's Sherlock to you now."
Edward gets up faster than I can say bumble bee. "You're going to eavesdrop?" he says in disbelief.
I nod, giggling. "Glad you caught on, Watson."
He shakes his head, chuckling. "You're crazy. I like that."
I blush. This is Bella's boyfriend. I can not develop feelings for him.
I hold my finger up in a warning, pausing outside the kitchen. That's where I hear the voices. Edward stops right beside me, and we're standing so close together that I feel his cool breath against my cheek.
"You imprinted on Tessa!" Bella hisses.
Jacob groans. "Don't get mad at me, Bells. You know it's not something I can control!"
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. I read about imprinting before. It's when a werewolf finds their future mate. But Jacob's not a werewolf, is he? And he didn't imprint on me, right?
Bella sighs. "What are we going to do, Jake? Tessa just moved to Forks. You have to give her some time to settle in before you tell her your secret."
"And what about Edward?" Jacob asks. "Will you tell her his secret?"
My eyes widen and I turn to face Edward, who looks as shocked as me.
"That mutt did not just say that," he mutters.
"I think he did," I whisper. "If that helps."
Edward rolls his eyes. "Yeah, that really helps."
I scowl. "Hey, I'm not good at comforting people."
He chuckles. "Who said you were?"
"Um, I don't know," I admit.
He bursts out laughing at that. I internally curse myself for letting him eavesdrop with me.
"Shut up!" I hiss. "We're going to get caught!"
"I think you're already caught," a voice says.
I whirl around to see Jacob and Bella standing side by side, grinning at us. Edward stops laughing.
"What did you hear?" Bella demands.
"Something about secrets and imprinting," I mutter under my breath. "Is Jacob a werewolf?"
"Yeah."
I grin widely. "That's so cool!"
Jacob laughs at my enthusiasm. "Do you want to see me shift?"
"Totally!"
Edward coughs loudly. "Maybe another time, mutt."
Jacob and I frown. "Party pooper," we both mutter at the same time.
Edward glares playfully at us. "Vampires don't poop."
Bella gasps. "Edward!"
"You're a vampire?" I ask.
He nods. "And dogs stink."
"We do not!" Jacob shouts.
I laugh, playfully elbowing him in the side. "Sorry, but I'm more of a cat person," I tease.
Jacob growls playfully. "Oh, you did not just say that."
I smirk. "Maybe I did. What you going to do about it?"
"I'll-"
"Huh? Huh. Huh. Huh?"
He groans. "You're so lucky that I imprinted on you."
Bella and Edward laugh at that.
"You two go good together," Bella says, smiling.
I shrug. "Like I said. I'm more of a cat person."
Jacob growls deep in his throat, and pins me to the wall. I gasp as he starts sucking on my neck.
"I can change your mind," he says against my skin, and I moan.
"Jacob, stop," I whisper, trying to shove him away, but he won't budge. I let out another moan as he nibbles on my ear.
I try again. "Jake, not here," I say a little louder. I look around to see that Edward and Bella are gone. They're probably watching the movie.
He freezes, backing away from me.
"Did you just call me Jake?" he asks, shocked.
I feel my cheeks go red. "Is only Bella allowed to call you that?"
Jacob shakes his head, and I instinctively look into his beautiful brown eyes. "You can call me that," he whispers. "It sounds good when you say it."
"Jake," I say.
He grins. "Say it again."
I grin back. "Jake can bake a cake." I giggle. "Hey, that rhymes!"
He laughs. "You're a very funny person."
I raise me eyebrows suggestively. "I know."
Grabbing my hand, he pulls me to the living room, and we see Bella sitting on Edward's lap. She's sleeping, and the movie Romeo and Juliet playing.
"So romantic," I say in a stage whisper. "What a happy looking couple right there, folks."
Edward looks at us, clearly surprised that we're in here.
"Really, Tessa?" he whispers.
I nod. "Really." Turning to Jacob, I say, "Don't expect me to cuddle up with you like that. I'm more of a-"
Jacob groans. "Cat person. I know, I know."
I give him a thumbs up. "Glad you got it."
