Birthday Cutting

I groan when I wake up in the morning. Today's my birthday. October seventh. I can just imagine people saying things like this:            "Happy birthday!"
                             "Hope you have a
                          good day, B-day girl."
                        "You're 18 now!"
                         "It must be such a
                          good day for you!"
God damn. It's so annoying. Birthdays. All it is another year lived and another year I wished I was dead.
"Sweetie, Bella's here with some girl named Alice!" my mother calls from downstairs.
Bella. It's been so long since I last saw her, and I hear her talking with Edward about some girl named Alice. Alice can tell the future.
Preparing myself to expect the worst today, I pull on a pair of red skinny jeans, a white shirt, and my black pair of flats. I put my pocketknife in my back pocket  and side braid my hair before going down stairs.
"Bella!" I squeal as soon as I see her. I smile at the girl next to her. That must be Alice. "Hi," I say, trying to sound sweet. Alice has black hair that's, like, really short and she has golden eyes just like Edward.
Alice grins. "Somebody told me it was your birthday today, so we're going to my place to throw you a party. No buts about it."
I frown. "Is she always like this?" I ask Bella.
Bella laughs. "It's harder on Edward. He can read her thoughts."
Alice fakes a pout. "I can hear you," she sings. She turns to me. "If you don't mind, Tessa, can I look at your future?"
I shrug. "Sure."
Looking into my eyes, she squints, causing me to fidget nervously. This is really uncomfortable.
She gasps. "Oh my god!"
"What's wrong, Alice?" Bella asks her.
"I can't see Tessa's future! Is it because of the wolves?"
I laugh nervously. "Well, one sort of imprinted on me." As if on cue, my phone rings. "Um, I have to take this. Excuse me." I quickly walk away from Alice and Bella and towards the front door.
"Jake!" I exclaim. "Thank God!"
The person laughs. "Not Jacob. It's Sam, his leader."
I scowl. "Oh."
Sam chuckles. "So, I heard my little Jacob imprinted on you?"
I hold back the urge to roll my eyes. "He's not your little anything," I hiss.
"Oh, aren't you a feisty one," Sam teases, and I can literally hear the smirk in his voice. "I just wanted to tell you that you have to get marked sooner or later."
I raise my eyebrows. "Marked?"
"Yeah, Jacob has to bite you."
"I thought you guys were werewolves," I snap.
"But by marking your mate, it means they're officially your territory. That they're yours."
I really want to punch this Sam guy. "Territory?" I shout, causing Alice and Bella to look at me. I blush in embarrassment, and say in a quieter voice, "What do you mean by that?"
"What I mean," Sam says, "is that after Jacob marks you, you'll officially be apart of our little wolf tribe. No hanging out with the Cullens." And then the line goes dead.
I hold back my tears of anger as I walk back over to Alice and Bella. Well, I'm not apart of the wolf tribe yet, so it's okay to hang out with the Cullens now.
Alice smiles. "Let's go prepare for the big birthday bash, shall we?"
I fake a smile back. "I have to go to the bathroom first."
"Okay."
  "Be fast."
Once I'm in the bathroom, I watch the cold blade go across my wrist as the blood drips on the floor. Just as I'm about to push the blade deeper, the bathroom door bursts open, presenting a furious Jacob. Oh no.
