A/N: Maelynn's outfit in picture
I walked into the main dining room and began walking to the newly seated table in my section. I pulled out my note pad and pen. "Hi there, I'm Mae and I'll be your waitress today. Can I start y'all off with somethin' to drink?" I asked. I looked up at the man and my eyes widened slightly. "Diet coke please." he said, not taking his brown eyes off of the menu in front of him. I then turned to the older couple on the other side of the booth. I smiled at them, which they both returned. "How are you, Mae?" Mrs. Smith asked me with a sympathetic look in her eye. "As good as a single mother working for minimum wage and tips can be." I replied. Mrs. Smith nodded. "If you ever need anything, don't hesistate to call us." Mr. Smith told me. "Thank you. Oh I completely forgot to ask. Allison's school is having a bake sale on Saturday and I'm making brownies but I was wondering if you could make your cookies?" I asked Mrs. Smith. "Sure thing, Maelynn." she smiled. "Thanks, now what can I get y'all to drink?" I asked them. "Water please." Mrs. Smith said. I nodded and wrote it down. "And for you Mr. Smith?" I asked the older man. "Coffee Please, Maelynn." I nodded and wrote it ddown, turning back to Nathan realizing I hadn't written his down.
"And what did you said you wanted, Nathan?" I asked him. This time, he looked up at me with his beautiful brown eyes. "Diet coke, please." he replied. I nodded, wrote it down and walked off to get the drinks.
I walked back and gave them each their. drinks. "What can I get you to eaat?" I asked Nathan. "Burger and fries." he answered. I wrote it down. "How would you like it cooked?"
"Well." I nodded and wrote it down. I took the rest of the orders. I gaave the orders to the chefs.
Suddenly, my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I walked into the break room and pulled out my phone. "Hello?" I asked. "Ms. Abel?" the woman asked. "This is she." I replied. "Hi, this is Mrs. Charlotte, the school nurse. Allison came in about an hour ago, complaining of a stomach ache, headache and feeling sick. I'm going to need you to come and pick her up because she threw up a few minutes ago and is now running a fever of a hundred and three." she informed me.
"I'll be there soon." I told her, hanging up. I quickly ran to my boss' office and told him what was happening. He allowed me to leave and said he woould have someone cover my section. I walked out and told Mr. and Mrs. Smith what was happening and then I went to pick up Allison.
