Chapter Eleven: Sunday

    
A/N: Okay so, the top picture is the outfit Maelynn wore to work and the bottom is the outfit she wears on the date.

     I walked out of the diner at four and got into my car. I drove home and ran into the apartment. Allison was sitting on the couch. "When did you get home?" I asked her. "Ten minutes ago," she answered. "Kaitlin's mom brought me home." "Okay, good. Now, I need to to get ready." I ran into my room.

     Five-fourty-five rolls around and there is a knock on the front door. Heels in hand, I run to the door. I open it and smile at Mrs. Smith. "Come in and you know you don't have to knock right?" I asked. She nodded. "It's rude to just walk in." she replied. "Well, I'm assuming you already know where everything is so I don't have to explain it. You have my number so call me if you have any problems but I don't want any problems so please don't call me." I said rather quickly. "Did you catch any of that?"
     Mrs. Smith laughed and I ran back to check myself before I heard another knock on the door. I put my heels on before carefully walking to the door while also. trying not to twist my ankle. I opened the door and let Daniel in. I hugged him and then walked to Allison who was sitting on the couch. I kissed her head. "Be good." I told her. "Always am." she replied. I smiled and walk back to Danny. "Ready?" he asked. "Yep." I replied. I walked out the door and Danny followed. We walked to his car and he opened the passenger door for me. I sat down and he closed the door. He ran around the car and got in the driver's seat. "So where are we going?" I asked. "You'll see." he replied, pulling out onto the street. We drove down the street until there were no more houses and then I saw the sign.

Now leaving Pretty Lake

     I raised an eyebrow at him. "What?" he asked, looking over at me. "You haven't left this town in forever, there is more to this world than Pretty Lake." I nodded and he pulled into a parking lot. The building was very fancy looking. He turned off the car and got out. He opened my door and helped me out. He closed the door and helped me balance. "Careful there, Grace." he joked. I laughed and stood up straight. We walked into the building and to the front desk where a very well dressed host stood.
     "Do you have a reservation?" he asked us. "Cameron." Daniel replied. The man typed. it into the computer. "Oh yes, right this way." he said, grabbing two menus and showing us to a table. We sat down and looked at the menu. A few minutes later, the waiter came. "Can I take your orders?" he asked, looking at me. "Angel hair pasta with meatsauce please." I said. "And to drink?" he asked. "Sweet tea." "And for you, sir?" he asked Danny. "Steak with mashed potatoes and gravy with a water please." Danny replied. The waiter took the menus and walked away. "So, I have a question." I said. "Okay, shoot." Danny replied, leaning back in his chair. "Why now, after all the years you've known me?" He shrugged. "I mean, I like you back in highschool but I only realized it when you were already with him." I nodded.
      The waiter brought the drinks and I sipped my seat tea. "So, what's your story? You've never said what happened before you came to Pretty Lake." Danny asked, curiously. I chuckled slightly and then became serious again. "Well, I grew up in Texas, one night when I was nine, we were driving to visit my grandparents and there was an accident. I survived but my parents weren't as lucky." I replied. "I'm so sorry." Danny said, placing his hand on top of mine on the table. I shrugged. "I don't really rememeber it." I said.

     We stood on the doorstep. "Thank you, I really enjoyed tonight." I thanked him. "So did I, we should do this again." I nodded. He leaned in and kissed my lips softly. "Goodnight Maelynn." he said. I smiled. "Goodnight." I opened the door and walked into the apartment. I closed the door and took a deep breath, falling against the door. I was in a daze, like a teenager after her first kiss.

A/N: Okay so if you have seen the netflix show "Between" you will recognize the name of the town. No this is not the same town, I just couldn't think. of a good name for the town and I really liked the this name.
