"So any plans for tomorrow?" Misty asked. I shook my head and finished wiping the table. "Allison and I don't normally celebrate Thanksgiving." I replied. "So I'm probably just gonna order pizza or sommething. How 'bout you and Danny?" "We're going to our Gran's, haven't seen her in a long time." she said. "Have fun and bring us back some cookies." I joked. She laughed. "Yeah, sure."
Just then, Danny walked into the diner. "We're closing up, Danny." I said. "I know, I just need to talk to you." he said. I glanced over at Misty and she shrugged. I wwalked to the back room and Danny followed. "So Misty and I are leaving tomorrow for our Gran's house." he started. I nodded. "We get back on Sunday, so I was wondering if maybe yoou wanted to go to dinner that night?" he asked shyly. I studied his face for a moment to see if he was joking but I couldn't tell. I looked at the door in thought. I looked back a=into his eyes and nodded. "Yeeah, sure." I smiled. He smiled excitedly. "Awesome, I'll pick you up at six." he said. I smiled again and nodded. I walked him out of the diner.

"What was that about?' Misty asked. "He asked me out to dinner." I replied. "And...?" She pressed on. "I said yes." I smiled. She returned the smile. "Good for you Mae, finally putting yourself out there again." "Yeah, after what happened with Nate, I didn't think it would happen." I replied, walking to the door. Misty and I walked outside and I locked the doors. "This is gonna be good for you." she said, hugging me. "Yeah, I hope so. Have fun at your Gran's hoouse." I replied. She got into her car and I got into mine and headed home.

I walked into my apartment and was nearly tackled in a hug. I laughed and hugged her back. Mrs.Smith walked up to us. "Thanks for watching her." I said. "Anytime. Oh, if you two aren't doing anything tomorrow you are welcome to join us for Thanksgiving dinner. It's at five." she offered. I nodded. "We'll be there." I said. "And also, if you're not busy Sunday night, could you watch her?" I asked. "Sure, what time." she asked. "Could you be here at five-fourty-five?" I asked. "Sure." she said. "Thanks. Have a good night." I said, walking her out and closing the door.
