Chapter Twenty-Three: January 20th

     "Have a good day." I said as Allison got out of the car. "I will. Love you!" she said. "Love you too." I watched her walk into school and drove back to the apartment. I walked up the stairs and into the apartment where I was met by Nate. I jumped, "I didn't think you were up yet." I said, kissing his lips. "I'm in a thai ice tea kinda mood. You want thai ice tea?" he asked, getting on his skateboard and riding through the house. "Sure." I replied. "Brett, you want thai ice tea?" Nate said, riding into the office. I laughed. Nate ordered thee ice tea and we waited for it. I got on my laptop and started writing a new story. "Oh, I forgot to tell you, a couple of my friends are coming over around noon." Nate said. "Alright." I replied. Someone knocked on the door and Nate skateboarded to the door. He came back, rode by handing me my ice tea and into the office.

     I was in the kitchen making lunch and typing on my laptop when there was a knock on the door. "I got it!" Nate said. "Okay!" Brett and I both said. I continued writing and Nate and some others walked into the kitchen. "Mae?" I heard a familiar voice ask from behind me. I gasped quietly, turning around. I ran to him and hugged him, nearly knocking him over. "Woah, easy Mae." he said. "I thought you moved to Cincinnati?" I asked. "I did but I moved out here a few years ago." We pulled away and I looked up at him. He smiled down at me and I looked over at the others. "Mae, this is Mat and Stephanie." Nate said. I shook their hands. "Hi, I'm Maelynn." I said. "They want to have Allison on their livestream." Nate informed me. I nodded, "You can talk to her when she get home." I told them.
     I finished making lunch and everyone grabbed a plate. We went into the living room and sat down on the couches. They started talking about the projects that Nate and Brett are working on.

     A few hours passed and I left to go get Allison from school. I stood outside the school waiting for her to come out. A lot of other parents stood out there. "Carter Abel." One of the teachers called from the doorway. I raised an eyebrow and watched as a man walked to the doors. He held the child's, I'm assuming Carter, hand and started to walk back in my direction. This is the first time I got a good look at his face. He looked over at me and noticed me staring. "Caan I help you?" he asked. I froze, hearing his voice. I shook my head.. "No sir, I'm sorry." "Allison Abel." the teacher called. I walked up to the door, feeling his eyes still on me as I got Allison. We walked past him and the little boy. He was looking down at his wallet and he looked back at us.
     We got into the car and I wiped the tears from my eyes. "Mom, are you okay?" Allison asked from te backseat. I nodded, regaining my composure.. ""Yeah, I'm fine." I lied. We pulled out of the parking lot and drove home.

     We walked into the apartment and Allison nearly passed out when she saw Mat, Stephanie and Mark all sitting on the couches. Nate looked up from his phone and noticed the tears in my eyes. He quickly stood up and came over to me as Allison sat down in his spot next to Mark.
     "We need to talk." I said, lightly grabbing his right forearm and pulling him into the bedroom. "Babe, what's wrong?" he asked, wiping a tear off of my cheek. "Tomorrow, you and I are going to go and sign the proper papers for you to have your paternal rights to Allison." I replied. He smiled, "Really?" I nodded, "Yeah." I said, smiling now as well. He kissed my lips and we went out and joined everyone in the living room. "Well we should probably head over now then." Stephanie said. We all walked out of the apartment and down to the parking lot. Allison, Nate and I all got in my car and followed Mat and Stephanie to their house.

     We got there and went into a room with a couch, table, tv and a man at a set of computers behind the camera. Nate and I sat off to the side as Mat, Allison and Stephanie sat on the couch. "Hello everyone and welcome to GTLive!" Mat yelled at the camera, "TGISGF!" Allison said. "Yes indeed. Thank goodness it's scary games Friday!" So everyone you may be wondering who this girl is. This is Allison Sharp." Mat said and then turned to look at me and Nate. "You guys okay if we call her Allison Sharp?" he asked us. I shrugged, "I don't care." "Go ahead." Nate said. Mat looked back at the camera. "If you guys are wondering who we are talking to over there, Allison's parents are sitting off camera. Do you guys wanna say hi?" he asked me and Nate. We nodded and walked on camera. We waved at the camera. "Hi!" we said in unison. "Okay now go." Mat joked. We laughed. Nate said down in his seat and I sat down on his lap. "So what are we doing today?" Stephanie asked Mat. "Wel, we are gonna see is what Nate says is true and Allison is going to play FNaF, complete in one go." Allison smiled and nodded.

     "Okay, I've got some work to do, so Brett is gonna drive me over to the our studio." Nate said to me as I made dinner. "Alright." I replied. He wrapped his arms around me from behind and kissed my shoulder. "Are you okay? You've been really quiet since you picked Allison up from school." he said. I looked back at his eyes to see them filled with concern. I took a deep breath. "I think I saw my father today. He has another child and he's in Allison's class. I don't think I can pick her up anymore." I said as tears began to sting my eyes. He nodded, spun me around and hugged me.
