~ Today ~
"Are you ready?" my aunt asks, I turn around to my 'old' and empty room to look at it once more. I am nervous.. but am I ready? I don't really have a choice. I take a deep breath, turn to my aunt again and nod. I grab all my bags from the floor as my aunt opens the door and we walk out of the room together.
We walk downstairs and go outside to my aunts car. She opens the trunk for me to but my bags in. I neatly set my bags inside and close the trunk door. "Do you mind if I hang out here a little longer?" I ask my aunt, "No, of course not, take your time honey" my aunt tells me and I feel slightly relieved. "Thanks, you can just text me your address" I say and she nods. "Don't make it too late, okay?" my aunt says and she smiles a kind smile. "Sure" I laugh a little and my aunt steps into her car. I wave at her and she honks a few times before she drives away.
I'm left alone on the porch. I can't believe this is it. I'm moving out of my house.. My family house.. And this city, that I absolutely love! I'm really leaving.. It's all so surreal..
I'm pulled out of my thoughts when my phone starts vibrating. I grab my phone from my pocket to see what's up. I have two new messages. One is the address from my aunt and the other is a text from my friend Rose, her real name is Rosalinda but nobody actually calls her that, it's either Ro or Rose. Anyways, she texted me "Hey girl, you ready? x". That's the second time today someone asked me if I was ready. I think it is a stupid question, you're never really ready. You may think you are but you are never prepared for what's coming next. I've learned that the hard way..
Wow, we're starting off very deep here.. I haven't even introduced myself, so you're probably quite confused about what is going on.
Well my name is Blair Jordon.. I don't really know what to tell you.. Or where to begin.. I guess I'll start with that I lost my mother at kind of a young age, when she gave birth to my little sister, I was about 7 years old at the time. Losing your mother at the age of 7 was awful, but a few months ago my father, little sister and I were in a car crash.. I was the only one to survive.. Somehow. The first month or two I was so depressed that I wished I hadn't survived the crash, than I would have been with my family right now.. But I got over that, luckily, and now I'm just trying to kind of rebuild my life. I'm going to live with my aunt in a little eastern city called Bardstown, which is about 19 km² and has around 13 thousand inhabitants, I've done my homework. But I come from a city called Lexington, which is about 737 km² and has around 310 thousand inhabitants.. Yes, that's quite a difference. Luckily for me, and my fiends, the drive is only about an hour.
Talking about my friends, I text Rose back "Yes, my aunt just left, I'll be there in 10 xx". I walk over to my white Honda and get in. I start the car and begin to drive to my and Rose's special little place. I'm gonna miss this house.
