Old New Life

Chapter Seven.

The rest of the day goes by really quickly and before I know it it starts to get dark outside.

My aunt and I went to a little snack bar for dinner and now we are walking home again.

The city is nicely decorated with fairy lights which turned on as soon as it was getting darker. Maybe this city isn't so bad after all. It is small and super different from what I am used to but it is also kinda cute and cozy. Plus everyone here seems very friendly. Maybe I am secretly gonna like it here.

I keep thinking about that boy I ran into earlier. Who is he? Does he live here? Will I run into him again one day? Does my aunt know him? So many questions.. I wish I got some answers but instead I ran away from him, leaving him standing there while he was sort of staring at me.. with those beautiful eyes of his.. I try to shake this boy out of my head as we walk inside of the house.

"So what do you think about the city?" my aunt asks me. "It is so different from what I am used to" I answer. "Yes it is, but in a good or bad way?" "Hmm, I haven't decided yet. I'll let you know when I have" I say and smile to my aunt before going upstairs to my room.

When I get in my room and close the door behind me I see my phone laying on my bed. I haven't even noticed that I forgot it this morning, normally I would have. Normally I can't go anywhere without my phone. This city is doing strange things with me. Normal people would think it's a good change but I don't know about that, my phone is quite important to me. I grab my phone and unlock it. I see I have multiple missed calls from Rose. Shit, I almost forgot, I promised I'd call her every night. I quickly call her back, hoping she'll answer.

Just when I'm about to give up she answers the phone. "Well well well, look who we have here, I thought you'd never call again.." Rose says, I feel so relieved that she still answered. "I am so sorry Rose, my aunt and I were out all day and I forgot my phone and I am so sorry" I say rather fast and Rose laughs a little "Easy easy, don't worry honey, I was just messing with you" She laughs and I join her. "Good" I smile and even though I know she can't see it and I can't see her I can feel her smiling to. "So, you were out all day?" Rose asks. "Yes, we went to a cafe for breakfast and after that my aunts showed me around in the city" I explain. "Nice, any cute boys?" Rose asks and I laugh, this is typically Rose. "Well.." I can't even finish what I wanted to say because Rose interrupts me. "Tell me everything!" She says and I start telling her all about the boy I ran into.
