Sky Nemesis' Point Of View

A party . . .

Not exactly my thing! Heels, make-up, dresses, jewelry--- throw them away before I let you eat them.

“There’s no way I’ll wear those piece of trash!” I shouted at Frances. She is holding a red party dress with two pairs of black Jimmy Choo’s heels.

She frowned. “Are you calling these babies a piece of trash? Oh come on Sky, you definitely have no sense of fashion!”

Is she insulting me? “Para malaman mo mas mataas pa ang sense of fashion ‘kaysa sa iyo!” Ngumiti lang siya ng mapang-asar. Napahilamos ako ng mukha at tumayo mula sa pagkahiga sa sofa. “Akin na nga ‘yan!” Kinuha ko ang dala niya at pumasok sa walk-in-closet. Bahala siyang magpalamig doon. Manigas siya!

I wear the dress and heels. Apply some make-up. And then ugh, I hate it. Ang awkward kaya ng sinusuot ko ngayon. Red tube dress and two inch heels, seriously, I don’t really give a damn.

“Hey Sky! Tapos kanang---“

What is her problem?

“Pfft. . . I’m sorry--- ha-ha pfft. . .”

She sighed. “You’re lucky that I am your best friend. Let me give you a proper face-makeover.”

“What is wrong with my make-up?”

“Seriously Sky, parang kang may black eye sa make-up mo! Too violet and black! At ang eyeliner mo nagkalat. Para kang shuayla (shuayla—shunga o loka-loka) . . . nasobrahan ka yata ng blush on.”

Nanlumo ako sa narinig ko. Tiningnan ko ang sarili ko sa salamin. Tama nga siya mukha nga talaga akong shuayla. Mukhang napa-aga ang Halloween ngayon.

“Hey Frances, can I we exchange gowns?”

“Hmmm. . . Not a chance!” She removed my make-up. I frowned at her.

“Please, I really love the color of yours.” Err, her black backless with sleeve dress is making me drool. It is better than mine; mine is tube and backless and hers is backless with sleeves.  I would prefer hers than mine. Add the hue of the dress.

“No and that is final!”

“Fine, you win.”

I smiled at her. She’s the only one who can dare to do stupid things on me. Not even my family could do that. They were all afraid of me. Even though I plan on killing her sometimes [Because she is noisy] I couldn’t do it, why, I don’t know either. She is the only person that I can trust. And I still remember the first day we met. Ten years have passed since then. . .

* * *

I was all alone sitting in the monkey bar watching the children play happily. I was eight years old at that time and I am still living in London.

I was jealous of the kids that time. Why are they all so happy in fact they are not accomplishing anything, but me, studying hard, practicing martial arts, guns and swords . . . still accomplishing something. I was doing everything I can just to make my parents and Gramps proud of me--- And then, just playing around and goofing-off not accomplishing anything. . .
