Chapter Eight: The Holiday Dance

Music vibrated the floor of the gym as I entered the building. I saw Lavender in the corner with Poppy. I waved and ran over to them.

"Sup girls!"

"Nothing much. Except that Elk totally failed doing the worm and ran into the table."

I laughed. "Why do I miss the most funniest moments?"

"Hey guys!"

I looked back and saw Hawk, Avatar, and Elk walking towards us.

"Hey guys!" Said Lavender.

I saw black and white fluffy ears behind them and I saw Savannah, a Spirit Panda. I saw Sky by her side as they walked towards us.

Savannah had a hot chocolate mustache. "Have you tried their hot chocolate? It's soooooooo good!!"

"I can tell!" Said Avatar who was staring at her with a weird face.

"Tried telling her that she had too much."

"Hehe.... You said too much..."

"Seriously?" Said Poppy.

"Hehe...." Said Sky.

"Just stop!" Said Elk.

When the songs started, everyone got in the dance floor and started dancing.

I stopped to look out of the gym and I saw snow spiraling outside. Hope it doesn't get too bad.

When it got to 6:30, I took a break and went to have something to eat at the snack bar in the café and got some hot chocolate.

Savannah was right! The hot chocolate is AMAZING!

When I came back to the gym, I heard slow dance music.

"Shoot!"

I went to go sit down but then I felt a hand grab mine.

"Dammit!" I whispered in my head.

"You never learn do you?"

"Hawk, no."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No!"

"Yes! Come on!"

He pulled me on the floor and I looked at him. "Fine. Under an agreement."

"Autumn, you're killing me with these agreements!"

I smiled. "If you get me a KitKat after this."

He made a face at me then sighed. "Fine, now can we go?"

"Yes."

I went into the "school rule" position with my hands go on his shoulders and his go around my waist.

"You're lucky I know how to do this type of slow dancing."

"Yeah. My feet got beaten last time!"

I laughed. "That was fun."

"It was?"

"Well, the part when I stepped on your feet. The other part... I don't know."

"Stop it..."

I flicked the side of his face.

"Ow..."

"That's what you get."

"You're still kinda cute when you're upset."

"Shut up."

"See?"

I rolled my eyes.

When the dance ended, he got me the KitKat that he promised to get me and I went over to Lavender.

"Everything go well?" She asked.

"Thankfully yes."

"Good. Or he would've been in big trouble."

When the clock hit 7:00, the lights turned on and the music stopped.

I yawned. Tired.

I went outside to see fresh snow on the ground. The snow had stopped. Thank goodness.

I said goodbyes and started to fly home.

As I rounded the corner to Tanglewood, I felt a hand tap my wing.

"What's up?"

"We still up for tonight?"

"Maybe."

"I'll take that as a yes. See you then!"

Hawk flew off towards his house.

I sighed.

As I came into the house, Mom came over to me.

"How was it?"

"It was great!"

"Good. Well, your Dad's in his office. He'll be out shortly."

"Ok."

I went in my room and took off my 2 jackets and my sweater.

I took my boots off and shook them outside.

I stretched and flopped on my bed.

Before I knew it, I fell asleep.
