"Hope by its nature is very often foolish."-Constino
She showed him her hand and Jim was shocked by what he saw; five silver rings on each of her fingers! By touching his blade at its maximum power, the rings had been weakened and they were beginning to fall off. When all the rings were finally off her fingers, she burst into a cyclone of blue flames expanding very high into the sky and outwards several metres! Jim was blown away by the explosion. Her dress was completely burnt away revealing very shiny silver armour. All the injuries she had sustained were no more. The skies that had been darkened by Jim's Windra cleared up and there was light in the city again. Once again, the tides had turned. Krystaliale ignored Jim's unconscious body and began to move in the direction of the holders.
Choose life. Run away. You will die. You don't want to die, do you?! Run... run for your life. You're not ready to die, are you? All the soldiers in what was left of the evading army heard a very compelling voice in their heads. Soon, the words evolved into images and they could each see friends and colleagues dying followed by scenes of their own deaths. In a very short time, all the men dropped their weapons and ran away out of the city through opening in the wall the red queen had created.
"Get back here you cowards!!" Fanarbey screamed but there was no turning back for these men after what they had just witnessed. They all kept running away.
"I wouldn't scream like that if I were you..." Claspem advised him. Fanarbey wasn't bothered even when he was completely outnumbered by the holders. Very powerful fellas too! However, even the holders didn't know what to do or if indeed they wanted to do anything about him at all. At that moment, they had no idea what had happened in the other fight on the other side of the city. Soon however, Krystaliale came strolling with her recently revealed shiny armour.
"Just give up Krystaliale...you have lost." Dominus implored her. The red queen at first ignored the advice and moved closer to Fanarbey.
"What happened to the army?!" She asked Fanarbey.
"They left." He answered, "Just as you said they might."
"Well, what are you waiting for? Go and get the others!!" She ordered him. Fanarbey rushed off towards the opening in the wall.
"Give up? I'm tired of people giving me advice that they should applying for themselves!" She finally responded to Dominus' earlier statement. Clearly, she wasn't going to take the advice. But what was she going to do? Fight all the holders alone? Regardless of her plan, it would be better to avoid the fight completely and that's what Smyth was planning to do. He stepped forward in a flash and stretched out his right hand. Dominus and Chronomus realised what he was trying to do and they shouted simultaneously...
"Smyth, N-noooo!!!!"
As Fanarbey was trying to get out of the city, Austime leaped into the way.
"Can you hold your breath?" Austime asked. After a while, Fanarbey was still standing and completely unaffected and yet he was within the range of Austime's power. Suddenly, their shadows came to life and climbed out of the ground.
"Yes I can." Austime's shadow answered, "Can you?!"
The air became very thick for Austime and breathing became extremely difficult. On the other hand, he continually had to dodge attacks from Fanarbey's shadow! He was having a taste of his own medicine and it wasn't sweet. To make matters worse, Fanarbey slipped right through the opening of the wall and he was on his way. Finally when he was almost out of breath, Fanarbey's shadow dug its hand into his belly and disappeared into him. Austime blew up into a mass of black soot and he was gone his shadow with him.
Smyth heard the message from his colleagues but he was going too fast to brake. His hand touched Krystaliale's blade but it did not cause the expected effect. Ordinarily, any weapon Smyth touched should have been shattered instantly. But this was no ordinary weapon and that was what his colleagues were trying to tell him. As soon as his fingertips came into contact with the blade, his body began absorbing the flames from its surface and he found that pulling away wasn't possible. Consequently, his body was completely heated up and he melted into a heap of ashes.
"That went so well!" Krystaliale commented after the incident and this angered Dominus greatly. He boiled up attempted to charge in with an attack but Djen held his hand and pulled him back.
"That is your problem brother...you anger easily and let it show." She said to him, "We are all angry, don't think you're the only one. She's completely outnumbered by a group of angry people...don't let her take away that advantage."
She was right as she always was. Sometimes Dominus thought that perhaps she would be a much better leader than he was or ever could be. He looked around; all he could see was a ruined city and friends that were no more. Where was she getting all the hope? What was she holding on to? In truth, she wasn't holding on to anything! Djen had let herself go to a place so dark and sad; she couldn't possibly experience anything worse. Her hope was nothing more than hopelessness and that's why she could think rationally even when she shouldn't have been able to.
Hello!!I'm very grateful for your time, have an awesome day;)
