At the Krichnd's palace, the Zytes had surprisingly put up a formidable fight against the giant and the other twenty or so rascals. Their success thus far could easily be attributed to the fact that the opponents never took them seriously enough. But that would be unfair to their courage and self-belief. These were men and women holding their line with pieces of wood, farm tools and in some cases with their bare hands. The giant occasionally swung a jab at them throwing great numbers to the ground but each time they managed to get back up. For some reason, the rascals found it funny and laughed out loud each time it happened! It eventually became a bore and then it was time to seriously move on the palace. Then the Zytes were nothing more than a distraction that had to be done away with. All the warriors drew their weapons. Maces, clubs and huge blades versus farm tools! Just the glares in their eyes gave them away; they were no soldiers!-just blood thirsty criminals. Most of them still had remnants of chains on their wrists and ankles. Krystaliale's last battalion was nothing more than a bunch of felons from the dungeons of Duskangeon. With the vicssorns she had recklessly extracted from the land, these men had been enhanced and those that hadn't died became awfully strong. Here they were; men who found satisfaction in killing for the sake of it and parents trying to protect their progeny. A class battle of good versus evil and yet the good didn't seem to have a chance on the day!

As the rascals moved in towards the people, a line of fire formed before them. The people looked up in the sky whence the fire had descended and their prayers had been answered-it was Breala! She landed in front of the crowd and the wings became fiery blades again with the flames blazing up her lower arms. All the Zytes were glad she was back and the rascals were surprised.

"That's the line you are not supposed to cross if you know what's good for you!" She declared. The grins on the opponents' faces got wider! In their world, the harder the task the more fun for them!

"What should we do?!" One Zyte asked.

"Make sure...they don't-" Breala began to respond but she was punched by the giant before completing her sentence. The punch sent her flying into the crowd which caught her.

"-let them cross the line." She finished her statement as she got up and moved forward. The giant crossed the line and tried to hit her again but this time Breala evaded the hit burning up the offending arm. As he watched his arm burn, the giant screamed uncontrollably! Just the sound of his voice sent quakes through the palace and shivers down the peoples' spines. In the heat of the moment, the giant set a foot across the line and it was time for Breala to execute her threat. Both of her blades transformed into spears. Speedily, she dug both weapons into his chest and they both lit up from the inside causing a massive explosion. The giant burst into a column of flares which faded towards the sky.

"He shouldn't have crossed my line!" she commented. The astounded crowd grew a renewed faith in their leader and believed once again that maybe they would all survive. It was one down and about twenty to go but the one was giant so, it was tempting to believe that the rest would be walk overs. All the remaining opponents stepped over the line simultaneously. Breala tried to stop them with her burning spears but three of them hit back with their maces and she was sent flying towards the castle walls. Her back and head hit the castle walls and she fell to the ground face first. A portion of the crowd moved in trying to prevent the men from advancing but they were met with the same. Even as their colleagues were badly injured, the Zytes were preparing to continue moving forward. Breala was still on the ground and every part of her body hurt but she could see it all; parents blindly running forward to their deaths.
