With sword in hand, Jim ascended and descended countless hills and when it seemed like they were all done; he looked ahead and saw a forest and mountains!! Looking back, he could see nothing but hills and ahead were even bigger challenges. It occurred to him for the first time that he was tired, very tired but he was not hungry!! The thing is; it should have been a subject of interest (his lack of hunger) but considering the situation at hand, he didn't give it any attention. The sun was going down and being tired, Jim decided to head into the forest, collect some firewood and set up camp for the night.
As Jim picked fire wood in the forest, he heard a sound somewhere between a roar and a bark. He did not mind the sound though it kept getting closer and closer. Eventually, it came too close to be ignored. Jim looked and his heart skipped a beat at the sight of a beast- the source of the sound. The beast was about a metre and a half long, half a metre high and half a metre wide. It had a huge head with long whiskers. The beast looked a lot like a leopard except for its grey colour and shiny red eyes. Jim tried to scare it away but the only one afraid was himself. The beast just moved closer and growled. Its claws could be seen and boy did they look scary. Looking at the claws, he understood that the fight was inevitable. Jim dropped the pieces of wood and held his sheathed sword with both his hands. Suddenly, the beast attacked and threw him to the ground. It scratched him with its claws but each time, the scratch wounds just emitted blue light and closed. He struggled to get the beast off and succeeded in the end throwing it a good distance away. Like any other beast that relies solely on instinct, it attacked again with yet more anger and determination. Jim more ready than the first time, drove his sheathed sword into the beast's chest as it attacked. It groaned in pain and tried to run away but fell down and died after moving a few metres.
Jim, more tired from the fight could hardly move. He staggered like a drunkard to the carcass of the beast and retrieved his sheathed sword- the sheathe had suffered some damage. Looking at the sword and the damaged sheathe, he realised that his hands had become bigger! On closer inspection of his body, he realised it was not just his hands that had grown bigger. Having witnessed a number of inexplicable things, growing bigger didn't register. Not even the fact that there was no blood on the sword surprised him. The sudden disappearance of the carcass surprised him-a little. He picked up the pieces of fire wood he had collected and headed out of the forest to set up camp.
Outside the forest, he found a group of angry creatures. They stood on two limbs and dressed in a variety of materials ranging from leaves, tree barks, animal hides, bones and nothing. Their ears were on the sides, big and fallen. Noses were long, too long to ignore. Eyes were big and teeth dirt. They had tails too similar to lions' but a lot shorter. These creatures were simply hideous-that is exactly what Jim thought. Shocked by the existence of things so hideous, he let go of the sword and the firewood. A creature from the lot of them jumped up and dealt him a strong blow. The rest of the tribe ganged up on him and slowly, his vision and hearing became unclear until he lost consciousness. One of the creatures pushed a pointed piece of wood through his chest.
After defeating the enemy, the creatures fought for his sword and in the process; the already broken sheath came off. The weather changed and the clouds darkened immediately! A storm with its epicentre at the sword hit the area swallowing up a large number of the tribes' beings and destroying a good part of the forest. There was rain, there was wind, and there was lightning and thunder! Jim was there and he was not there.
