(Josh's POV)

He glanced over at me and smiled. Oh fuck what am I supposed to do. Fuck me. I glanced down. Just avoid eye contact. He's popular you're not, he's straight you're not, he's hot and, yet again, you're not. I let out a sigh. He wouldn't want to hang out with a person like me. I'm different and hell there is a million things wrong with me. He probably wasn't even looking at you. All these thoughts were racing through my mind, I just needed them to stop. The bell rang startling me and awaking me from my thoughts.
I stood up from the table I sat at alone and pushed in the chair. It screeched against the floor. I reached down and picked up my bag and looked up to find that same brunette boy standing in front of me. Well not directly but as we were walking to lunch he stood in front of me in line. I sighed taking my seat at the same lonely booth I always took a seat at.
I caught myself staring at the rather adorable looking boy rather than eating my food.
I sighed happily. He looked over at me and I darted my eyes back to my food.
I bit my lip.
The same cute boy I was staring out was now standing right in front of me.
I looked up towards the boy.
"Hi," he says giving a small smile towards me. Oh fuck me. Well I wish he would.
"Uhm...hey," I say looking up at the tall boy. Well at least from here he was really tall.
I knew who he was. Well I knew he played basketball.
Is this a joke? Is he gonna embarrass me like those other kids did that one time?
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard his sweet voice speak again. Fuck what am I thinking.
"I'm Tyler by the way," he said as he slipped into the booth seat across from me.
"Josh," I said simply with a nod.
"Cool. You have nice looking hair by the way," he says. Yeah this has got to be a joke. No way he was serious.
"Oh...uh...thanks," I smile. "You are great at basketball," I say and immediately regret it. I mentally kicked myself for saying that. Now he would think I'm a stalker.
"Oh thanks. Surprised anyone even pays attention to me," he says.
"I mean who couldn't," I say not really thinking it through. Fuck. "..because you're like really good who couldn't notice you," I say and stifle a laugh.
"Oh thanks," he says. He gives a small smile.
"So...uh...why exactly did you want to come and talk to me?"
He shrugs. "I mean I see you're alone everyday so I figured you could use some company," he says looking off else where.
I have friends. Dallon, Brendon, and Patrick. Sure I only have three friends and sure they don't sit with my at lunch because they have better friends but they're still my friends nonetheless.
"Oh...well thanks...but you really don't have to...hate to ruin your reputation." I didn't want him to leave but I didn't think he actually wanted to talk to me.
He laughs. "Nah it's good...it's actually kinda nice talking to you...it's someone new. Plus so far you're not a prick which really helps," he smiles and I laugh a bit at his remark. The lunch bell rang signaling us to move to our next class. I sighed and stood up. He did the same.
"Could I see your phone?"
A cute boy asked to see my phone.
I was not about to say no.

I handed him my phone and he typed something in.

"Here," he muttered handing it back to me. He walked off before I could say anything.

I looked down at the phone and saw his name and number.

I slipped the phone back into my pocket.

I smiled to myself as I walked down the halls towards my class. This was a first.
