Part 7: The Question and The Answer

Regular POV

It's been two weeks since Purple Fluorite woke up and everything going back to normal. Well, almost.

Pearl wouldn't let Purple Fluorite sleep in her room anymore so Purple Fluorite was staying with Amethyst.

"What happened? Why won't Pearl let me hang out in her room anymore? Did she start hating me again? Does she not trust me because of my dark side? Why. Why? Why!" Purple Fluorite said, pacing the floor.

"Dude, chill. I don't know why Pearl doesn't want you in her room anymore but you can't let it affect you so much. Just give it time and she'll let you back in." Amethyst lied, wishing she could make Purple Fluorite forget about Pearl.

"I guess you're right... In the mean time, I'm gonna go talk to Garnet. She said she has questions for me. I'm guessing about my dark side." Purple Fluorite said, sighing. "I'll see ya later Amethyst. Don't do anything fun without me!"

"Later..." Amethyst mumbled.

"Hi Garnet, you wanted to talk with me?" Purple Fluorite asked, tilting her head.

"Yes. I wanted to know more about that dark side of yours." Garnet said, calmly while adjusting her glasses.

"I can't give you much information on that. When I transformed, I was surprised. I hadn't known that I had a dark side." Purple Fluorite explained.

"Hmmm... Well tell me this, do you think that this will happen again?" Garnet asked, already knowing the answer.

"Truly, I don't think so... it only happened because I was angry that Pearl got hurt... it seems it will come about if I become very angry." She said, sighing.

"Alright. Well you can go back to hanging out with Amethyst." Garnet said, walking off.

"Okay." Purple Fluorite said, walking towards the door.

The door then opened, Pearl standing in the opening. They both blushed when they saw each other and Pearl tried to walk past her.

"P-Pearl? Can we talk?" Purple Fluorite asked, nervously.

"Oh. Um. Sure." Pearl said, walking over to her.

"Let's go somewhere else so we can't be intrrupted." Purple Fluorite said, going to the warp pad. "You can choose where we go."

"Alright. I know where we can go." Pearl said, getting on the warp pad.

They quickly warped out of the temple and warped into the Cloud Arena. They walked up the steps, through the doorway, to the edge of the arena, and sitting down.

"So... what did you want to talk about?" Pearl asked, thinking she knew what was coming.

"Why did you kick me out of your room? Did I do something wrong? Are you scared of my dark side?" Purple Fluorite started to pour out question after question.

"What! Hold on here. One question at a time. For the first question... I kicked you out because... I found out your feelings for me." Pearl said, watching Purple Fluorite's face turn into shock and embarrassment.

"H-How?!" Purple Fluorite asked.

"I just found out. I mean, you blush whenever you're around me. I also once heard you say that you thought I was pretty." Pearl lied, not wanting to start a conflict with Purple Fluorite and the others.

"I can't believe this..." She whispered, trying to hide her face with her hands.

"N-No! Don't be embarrassed!" Pearl exclaimed, trying to calm her a bit.

Pearl hugged her to make Purple Fluorite feel better. Purple Fluorite just blushed and sat there.

"P-Pearl...?" Purple Fluorite squeaked out.

"Oh! Sorry..." Pearl said, blushing a bit.

"S-Since you know how I feel... How do you feel about me..?"Purple Fluorite asked, her brown eyes looking scared and hopeful

"Well... I'm sorry Purple Fluorite but I can't return your feelings..." Pearl said, resting her hand on Purple Fluorite's shoulder.

"O-Oh... that's okay! I'll be fine!" She said, forcing herself to not cry. "C-Can I know w-why?"

"Well... I used to love someone else. Steven's mother, Rose Quartz. I did everything for her and she's not here anymore. She gave up her physical form for Steven to be born. I still miss her a lot and I don't think I will ever be over her. If I was over her, I would've accepted your feelings." Pearl explained, looking ahead.

"I see... well it's nice to know that you would've accepted my feelings..." Purple Fluorite muttered, looking away as tears started falling out of her eyes. "I-I'm gonna go..."

Purple Fluorite then got up and ran off, Pearl knowing that Purple Fluorite was hurting.

Purple Fluorite was back at the temple and went to the door, knocking on it for Amethyst to let her in.

Amethyst opened her door and saw her and the tears streaming down her face.

" P-Purple Fluorite?!" Amethyst exclaimed, worried. "What's wrong?!"

"I-I was rejected!" She exclaimed, falling into Amethyst's arms and letting out her tears.

Amethyst was shocked to hear that and quickly got them into her room.
