Part 9: The Date and The Confession

Amethyst and Purple Fluorite just sat down and started looking at the menu.

Well, Purple Fluorite was. Amethyst had her menu up, but was mainly looking at Purple Fluorite.

"So what are you gonna get Amethyst? I think I'm gonna get some pasta." Purple Fluorite said, looking up from her menu and making Amethyst snap out of her trance.

"O-Oh! I was thinking about getting the same thing! Let's just get the same thing and share it." Amethyst said, smiling.

"Okay! That way we can also save money!" Purple Fluorite said, smiling.

"Oh crap! I forgot the money!" Amethyst said, starting to freak out.

"Don't worry. I have some." Purple Fluorite said.

"Oh okay. Wait... why do you have money?" Amethyst asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Pearl gave me some before we left. She thought you would forget it so she gave me back up money." Purple Fluorite explained.

"You're talking with Pearl again?" Amethyst asked, nervously.

"Not really. She talked with me before getting ready. She said she wanted things back as they were but with me and her as just friends. I don't know if I could do that though." Purple Fluorite said, sighing.

"Um... Sorry to interrupt but can I take your order...?" The waiter asked, nervously.

"Oh yes! We will share a pasta please!" Purple Fluorite said, smiling and handing the waiter the menus.

"I'll get that in for you right away." He said, leaving.

Purple Fluorite and Amethyst then chuckled a bit.

"We need to lighten up! We'll keep making our waiter uncomfortable if we keep talking like that." Amethyst said, laughing. "Anyways, forget about Pearl tonight is about us!"

"Right!" Purple Fluorite said, smiling.

Amethyst and Purple Fluorite finished dinner and were now walking on the boardwalk. The sun was setting so the sky was all kinds of reds, oranges, yellows, and pinks.

Amethyst started to get nervous.

"This is my chance! My chance to tell her how I feel!" Amethyst thought, looking at Purple Fluorite.

They soon reached the end of the boardwalk and Amethyst blushed some while looking at Purple Fluorite.

"H-Hey Purple Fluorite. Can I tell you something...?" Amethyst asked, nervously.

"Of course, Amethyst! We're best friends. You can tell me anything!" Purple Fluorite said, smiling.

"Yeah... that's what I wanted to talk to you about..." Amethyst mumbled.

"Huh?"

"Purple Fluorite, I really like you! Not as a friend but as a lover! I think you're beautiful, sweet, amazing, and kind. I've liked you for a long time but didn't say anything because I knew you liked Pearl. But Pearl said no to you. I think she was stupid for doing that because you're awesome!" Amethyst said, blushing a lot and grabbing Purple Fluorite's hands. "What I'm trying to say is...I love you and Will you go out with me?"

Purple Fluorite was shocked and blushing as well. She wasn't expecting this at all. But she smiled and knew what she wanted to say.

"Amethyst..." She said, smiling warmly and happily. "I-"

"Stop right there!"

Amethyst and Purple Fluorite both turned around to see Pearl standing there, huffing and puffing.

"Pearl?!" Purple Fluorite exclaimed, once again shocked.

"Pearl! Butt out! You had your chance and you rejected her!" Amethyst said, angrily.

"I know but I hadn't realized my feelings!" Pearl said, walking up to Purple Fluorite and taking her hands. "Purple Fluorite, I'm sorry for rejecting you. What I was trying to say earlier is that I want things back to the way they were, but with you by my side. I love you and I want to be with you!"

Purple Fluorite was shocked into silence. Pearl and Amethyst both anxiously waited for a response. Purple Fluorite was looking at the ground, thinking about who she should choose.

"I-I don't know what to say or do..." Purple Fluorite muttered, shaking her head.

"Pick me! You liked me first!" Pearl said.

"Pick me! I was there for you when Pearl hurt you!" Amethyst said.

"I-I.... I can't choose right now... It's too much right now!" Purple Fluorite exclaimed, running off.

Pearl and Amethyst tried to chase after her but, they ended up fighting with each other on the beach in front of the temple.

Purple Fluorite ran into the house and went to the warp pad. She quickly warped out of the temple and onto Mask Island. She ran away from the warp pad and went to find a place to hide, incase anyone followed her. She found a cave and started to collect stuff to build a fire. By the time she got everything and started her fire, stars were everywhere in the sky. She stared at the stars and sighed.

"What am I supposed to do...?"
