Part 12: The Wait and The Truth

Regular POV

It's been almost a month since the incident.

Amethyst didn't find the Slinker and was keeping to herself in her room till everything was resolved. She kept blaming herself for what happened and wished it her instead. She was extremely worried about Purple Fluorite being in her gem for so long.

Pearl was worried and scared about Purple Fluorite and refused to let go of her gem. Pearl was angry with Amethyst and refused to listen to any explanations. She just wanted Purple Fluorite back.

Garnet found out what happened from Pearl but also listened to Amethyst. She wasn't siding with anyone till Purple Fluorite was back to explain what happened.

Steven was saddened about waiting for Purple Fluorite to come back but tried to keep a positive attitude. He believed Amethyst because he knew Amethyst wouldn't do something like that.

Steven was currently reading "Familiar Unfamiliar" and taking glances at Pearl, who was on the couch and cradling Purple Fluorite's gem.

They both looked up when the door opened and Garnet came out, with Amethyst behind her.

"Purple Fluorite will be coming out soon and we can have her explain what happened. So Pearl, put her gem down so she has some room." Garnet said.

Pearl, very reluctantly, put Purple Fluorite's gem down on the table and went towards Garnet. She looked at Amethyst and glared at her.

Amethyst just looked away and looked at Purple Fluorite's gem.

Steven had put his book down and went to sit on the stool by the counter.

Then Purple Fluorite's gem started glowing and floated up into the air. Her body's silhouette shined and went through all of her previous forms to her new one. She then quit glowing and landed on the floor, in her new dress. It was a mauve strappless sundress that stopped at her knees. It also had a dark purple star on the right side of her skirt.

She then opened her eyes and smiled at everyone.

"Hi everyone! Sorry I was gone for so long!" Purple Fluorite said, chuckling a bit.

"PURPLE FLUORITE'S BACK!" Steven shouted, excitedly.

He ran up and hugged her, making her laugh happily and hug him back.

Pearl walked over, some tears in her eyes and smiling, and hugged her.

"I missed you so much! Please don't do that again!" Pearl said, hugging her tightly and kissing her cheek.

"I won't. Don't worry." Purple Fluorite said, softly and smiling.

"Purple Fluorite." Garnet said, catching everyone's attention. "We need you to tell us what happened and how you got poofed."

"Didn't Amethyst tell you? Some gem monster in her room, I think she called it 'The Slinker'? But it got ahold of me and was trying to poof me. Amethyst tried to save me but it kept grabbing me. It ended up squeezing me so hard that I poofed and needed to regenerate." Purple Fluorite explained, confused on why she needed to.

Pearl put a hand over her mouth and immediately felt awful for blaming Amethyst.

"So that's what happened... Pearl, you need to apologize to Amethyst for blaming her for Purple Fluorite getting hurt and for not believing her."

"I knew Amethyst didn't do it! Amethyst never does stuff like that!" Steven said, running over to Amethyst and hugging her.

"Pearl... you blamed Amethyst for me getting hurt...?" Purple Fluorite said, shocked.

"I....I... I thought she hurt you... because you chose me over her..." Pearl said, quietly. She then looked at Amethyst. "Amethyst, I'm so sorry... I should've believed you.."

"... It's okay, P. She's back now so let's just let this incident go." Amethyst said, giving a small smile.

"Agreed." Pearl said, smiling.

"I guess since the fight is over and Purple Fluorite is back... We should celebrate!" Steven exclaimed, having a huge smile on his face.

Everyone laughed a little bit.

"Yeah dude! Let's party!" Amethyst exclaimed, fist pumping.

"Why not? It could be fun." Pearl said, chuckling and smiling.

"I think a party would be fun." Purple Fluorite said, smiling and looking a little excited.

"Let's set it up." Garnet said, giving a small smile.

Everyone went outside and started to set up the party. Steven made food, Amethyst blew up some balloons (popping some in the process), Pearl set up tables with Garnet and made some bows. Purple Fluorite got out plates and eating utensiles.

They soon started the party and had a lot of fun. Amethyst was eating the food, Steven was trying to stop her from eating it all, Garnet was just sitting in a chair, and Pearl was dancing with Purple Fluorite.

"I'm so glad you're back." Pearl said, smiling.

"It's good to be back. I missed you while I was regenerating." Purple Fluorite said, blushing some and smiling.

"I missed you too. And now that you're back, we can make up the time that you were gone. I already have a lot of stuff planned." Pearl said, looking a little excited.

"I can't wait." Purple Fluorite said, smiling.

Then Pearl and Purple Fluorite danced for the rest of the party.
