Part 14: The Reaction and The Sudden Mission

((Hey guys... I'm really sorry that I haven't been uploading a lot. I've been struggling with writers block and keep forgetting that the story needs updated. I know that they aren't excuses but it difficult for me to remember things anyways. I'll try and keep myself from doing this. I'll make myself a reminder so I can't forget. But for now, enjoy the story.))

Regular POV

Purple Fluorite and Pearl just pulled away from the kiss, both blushing and staring into each other's eyes. Pearl was waiting for a reaction, worried that she didn't like it.

Purple Fluorite remained emotionless for a few seconds before smiling and giggling happily.

"That was amazing!" Purple Fluorite exclaimed, hugging Pearl and kissing her again.

Pearl was a little startled by her sudden actions but smiled into the kiss.

They kissed for a few seconds and then, once again, parted. They smiled at each other and looked at the rising sun, snuggling each other.

They finally went back to the temple when it was almost noon. They walked inside the house and Steven ran up to them.

"Hey you guys! Where have you been?" Steven question, looking curious.

"We went and watched the sun rise." Pearl answered, smiling.

"It was a beautiful sight to see." Purple Fluorite added, also smiling.

"Awww! I missed it!?" Steven exclaimed, looking a little saddened.

"We went really early, Steven. You would have fallen asleep while we were waiting for it." Pearl explained, giving a small smile. "But next time we go, you can come."

Steven then perked up, stars in his eyes. "Awesome!"

Garnet then came out of her room, Amethyst tagging along.

"Come on, Gems. We have a mission to do." Garnet said, stepping onto the warp pad.

"Yeah come on! The sooner this is done, the sooner I can take a nap." Amethyst said, stretching and stepping onto the warp pad aswell.

Steven ran over to the warp pad, excited for the mission. Pearl went to walk to the warp pad, but stopped when she realized Purple Fluorite hadn't moved.

"Aren't you coming?" Pearl asked, confused.

"No." Purple Fluorite answered, looking down. "I would be useless in the mission because I can't fight without going into my dark form..." Tears were beginning to form in her eyes.

"You won't have to fight in this mission. It's a simple search and retrieve mission. I'm not planning on having you go on any fighting missions." Garnet said, crossing her arms.

Purple Fluorite looked up and immediately rubbed her eyes, composing herself. "I see. Then let's go on this mission." She said, a new determination.

Her and Pearl then got onto the warp and quickly warped out of the rooms with the others.

They soon reached a forest that had a ship near by the warp

"Where are we?" Steven asked.

"I'm glad you asked!" Pearl exclaimed. "This is an old gem ship that gem kind used to use to go to other planets. It's been long abandoned though."

"Right now there is random bursts of energy coming from the ship. We need to go and find out what's causing this and stop it before it causes any trouble." Garnet said, walking towards the ship.

They opened the ship and walked inside. They all looked around and started to walk.

"This ship is huge... will we be able to find it at all?" Purple Fluorite asked, worried.

"We'll find it. It will just take a little extra time." Pearl said, smiling some.

"We should split up. We can cover more ground that way." Garnet said, adjusting her shades. "Steven comes with me, Purple Fluorite and Pearl are a team, and Amethyst will be on her own."

"I get to go with Garnet!" Steven yelled, excitedly.

"Yeah okay." Amethyst said, shrugging but hiding the fact that she wanted to go with Purple Fluorite.

Pearl and Purple Fluorite smiled at each other.

"Let's get going!" Purple Fluorite said, smiling.

Pearl nodded and walked off with Purple Fluorite, leaving the others behind.

As they walked, they were looking around, hoping to find the cause of the bursts of energy. They soon reached a room that seemed to have a ton of controls in them.

"I wouldn't be surprised if this is the problem." Purple Fluorite muttered, looking at all the control panels.

"Let's look around and make sure before we do anything." Pearl said, walking towards a control panel.

Purple Fluorite walked up to a different one and was about to touch it, when it just sent out of electricity and shocked Purple Fluorite. She screamed in pain and fell to the ground.

"Purple Fluorite!" Pearl yelled, running towards her and lifting her up. "Are you okay...?"

"F-Fine... Just hurting a bit..." Purple Fluorite stuttered, making herself get up. "I think this is the cause of the problem."

Pearl nodded in agreement and got her spear out. She quickly slashed away at the panel, making it fall off.

Behind the panel was a large gemstone. It was kinda glowing with energy around it.

Pearl and Purple Fluorite both looked at it in awe. Pearl reach towards it, but it shocked her finger when she got close.

"I can't bubble the gem. It's gonna electrocute me if I get any closer!" Pearl said, wondering what to do.

"Could Garnet get it with her gauntlets?" Purple Fluorite asked, kinda suggesting it.

"She could probably get it with her bare hands." Pearl said, pacing. "But she's not here and I don't know where she is..."

"I'm right here." Garnet said, walking in through the door with Steven in tow.

Pearl and Purple Fluorite both jumped and looked at them.

"I'll get the gem." Garnet said, walking over and reaching her hand in, the gem trying to shock her.

Garnet wasn't affected at all and bubbled the gem as soon as she was close enough. She pulled it out and sent it back to the temple.

Amethyst had gotten to the room while Garnet was bubbling the gem and had been told what was happening from Purple Fluorite.

"Mission complete." Garnet said, a small smile on her face.

"YAAAAAAAYY!" Steven yelled, smiling happily

Pearl and Purple Fluorite smiled and shared a small kiss.

Amethyst smiled and messed with Steven's hair.

They all left the ship and headed back to the temple, and watched Lonely Blade with Steven.
