Chapter 20

"What the hell are you doing here?" Scott asked and Alaska was taken back a bit and so was I.

"Scott, it's me Alaska. I thought you would be more excited to see me."

"Alaska, you ran away with an older man at the age of 16! I'm pissed at you for not even telling me anything and especially at you for making that stupid decision!"

"Scott, let her at least come inside. It's chilly outside and I think we should at least let her come in." I said and he sighed.

"Fine, come in." Scott said and she mouthed thank you and I smiled and we led her to the living room.

"Who is this?" Alaska asked Scott and gestured to me.

"This is Nicole, she's my girlfriend." Scott said and I smiled.

"What happened to Jules?" Alaska asked and I'm guessing that's Destiny's mom...

"Alaska, things change when your gone for 3 years. Especially when you don't even make a simple damn phone call to check up on us." Scott said and I sighed.

"I'm gonna put the kids to bed, I'll be back." I said and went to the room next door.

"Kids? You have kids with her?" I heard Alaska ask and I stood in the hallway where they couldn't see me.

"I only have Destiny, Alaska. Beckett is a kid we babysit. You would know that if you called." Scott said and I went into the playroom and took the kids upstairs to their beds.

Luckily Destiny has a bunk bed and I don't even know why but it's a good thing when Beckett stays over.

"Good night kids, sleep tight." I said and kissed Beckett on the cheek and kissed Destiny on the cheek too.

"Good night." They said and I left the room and went back downstairs.

"Charles isn't a bad person Scott! He took care of me." Alaska said.

"Keep your voice down, the kids are trying to sleep. Alaska your 19 right now figure your life out." Scott said and I entered the living room and sat next to Scott.

"Well I'm trying to, Charles is going on tour with his band and I just need a place to stay for a little bit. I don't want to be on a tour bus with him and his band mates." Alaska said to him.

"So you only come back to me when you need me? Is that how our relationship works now? Well figure out another place to live because you left us. You ran away and that was your decision not mine." Scott said then got up and stormed into his office and then Alaska put her face in her hands.

"I'm sorry Alaska." I said as I tried to comfort her.

"Get off of me!" Alaska said then pushed me to the floor.

"Alaska get out of my house now." Scott boomed and I got up.

"I'm fine Scott, she can stay." I said trying not to cause anymore drama or tension.

"Fine I'll leave, I thought you were my brother though."

"I stopped being your brother when you ran away with an older man." Scott said and she grabbed her suitcase and walked out and I hugged Scott.

"I'm so sorry." I said and he wrapped his arms around me.

"All I need is you." Scott said and then he kissed me. I think you know how the rest of the story goes.

"Hey Kate, what's up?" I asked her as I put her on speaker and wiped down the counters.

"Hey! So Jackson and I are going cake testing and I'm wondering if you and Scott want to come. I thought you and Scott, Kenzie and Grant, and also us obviously go cake tasting for my wedding cake." Kate said.

"Sure, depends on the day and time too. Cause the Harrington's and one Nicole are very busy." I explained as I put down the rag.

"What are you doing right now?" Kate asked me.

"Well Destiny is with Scott's parents and Beckett is with Clarissa so I'm getting chores done while Scott is doing some last minute paperwork." I said as I started wiping the fridge.

"Well be ready at 4 because we're going cake testing." Kate said and I looked over to see it was 1.

"I'll talk to Scott and see if we can go." I said.

"Okay text me!" Kate said then hung up and I went into the study.

"Hey Scott." I said and started massaging his shoulders.

"That feels good, thanks babe." Scott said and I smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Don't overwork yourself, but Kate invited us to go cake tasting together. You wanna go?" I asked him and he nodded and I smiled.

"Sounds fun, plus I could use a break from all of this." Scott said and took off his glasses.

"Okay, we're meeting up with them at 4!" I said as I left the study.

"I really like this pumpkin cake, it would be nice for a fall wedding." I said and the group nodded in agreement.

"I like the vanilla cake with the whip cream and fresh strawberries." Jackson said and I nodded.

"I like the pumpkin and the vanilla cake..." Kate said.

"I think the pumpkin cake would be perfect for your fall wedding." Kenzie said.

"I think so too, what do you think Scott?" I asked Scott.

"I like both of them but I like the freshness of the vanilla cake with strawberries." Scott said.

"I agree with Scott." Grant said and I nodded, it made sense and I like both but since it's a fall wedding I thought it would be nice to have a pumpkin cake but it's not my wedding.

"No one really goes for a pumpkin wedding cake. It's actually unique because not a lot of people pick it because they want a traditional white cake." The baker said and I nodded as I tried both cakes again.

"Why don't you just do two cakes?" Scott asked.

"2 cakes?" Jackson asked and looked at Kate.

"How about I buy you the other cake as a wedding gift from Nicole and I." Scott said and Kate smiled.

"I would love that!" Kate said and clapped her hands.

"I like it too, thank dude." Jackson said then did the weird bro shake thing.

"2 cakes it is!" Grant said and I smiled and took another bite of the cake.

I feel like they're warming up to Scott.
