Chapter 26

"Please wake up..." I heard someone say as they held my hand and I opened my eyes.

"Nicole!" Scott said and hugged me.

"Honey!" My mom cried and hugged me too.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"You're at the hospital, sweetheart." My dad said and I touched my head and there was a pounding in my head. 

"Don't worry babe, Dylan is in jail." Scott said and I closed my eyes.

"I'm so sorry I put you through this, I really am." I said and Scott shook his head at me.

"I'm just glad you're okay." Scott said and kissed my forehead.

"What happened?" I asked.

"We'll explain later, just get some rest." My dad said and I nodded and closed my eyes.

~FLASHBACK~

SCOTT'S POV-

"Scott!" I heard someone yell and ran into the room. 

"Kenzie? Annie? What's going on?" I asked and they were out of breath. 

"You have to hurry up and come with us." Annie yelled, I could tell she was terrified. 

"What's going on?" I asked. 

"Scott, Nicole is in trouble and we have to hurry or else she's gonna get killed." Kenzie said and I dropped everything and ran to her. 

I kicked open the door and ran to Nicole and picked her up.

"KATE!" Jackson yelled and ran to Kate and picked her up.

I laid Nicole onto the couch and saw Dylan sitting in the corner with blood dripping own his face and I couldn't even look at him.

"What the hell happened?" I yelled.

"Dylan threatened to shoot Nicole if she didn't marry him and she tried to save me." Star said and broke down crying. 

"Kate then tackled Dylan and Dylan attacked her and then when Kate was down on the floor he went after Nicole again and chocked her out. I used a bottle and knocked Dylan out and we called the cops, the ambulance and the cops are on the way." Clarissa said and I picked up Nicole and carried her downstairs and Jackson did the same with Kate. 

A few minutes later the ambulance came, they took Kate and Nicole to the ER and the wedding was called off.

"Scott?" I heard someone say and I lifted up my head. 

"Hey, it's just me." Nicole said and held my hand and I sighed in relief.

"Don't ever scare me like that ever again." I said and hugged her. 

"Haha, I honestly wasn't planning on it." Nicole said and I smiled and kissed her.

"I'm just glad you're okay." I said and she smiled.

"Where's Destiny?" I asked. 

"Clarissa is taking care of her while we're both here. Kate is recovering too so Jackson is here too." I said and Nicole's face went white. 

"What happened to Kate?!" Nicole freaked out and I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Hey calm down, Kate's fine. She was trying to help you and tackled Dylan and he attacked her and broke her arm and she was unconscious." I said and Nicole sighed. 

"Everyone gets hurt because of me..." Nicole said and I kissed her forehead. 

"You're worth it." I heard someone say and I looked to see Kate. 

"Kate!" Nicole said and a tear rolled down her cheek. 

Kate walked over to Nicole and hugged her and they started crying in each other's arms. Their friendship is unbreakable and you can just tell. 

"Let's give them a moment." Jackson said and I nodded and we went outside into the hallway.

"You holding up okay?" I asked Jackson as I handed him a soda.

"Thanks and I honestly can't believe what happened. My best friend tried to hurt my fiancé pretty much..." Jackson said and I sighed.

"Nicole almost got killed..." I said still in disbelief.

"Scott... I'm so sorry that this happened on the day that was suppose to be the best day of your lives." Jackson said.

"I... I just can't believe this happened. I wasn't there to stop anything..." I said my voice cracking.

"You didn't know what was going on and you were in a completely different section of the building, you couldn't have stopped it." Jackson said.

"I just wish that I could have though... I couldn't protect her..." I said and my heart shattered.

"Scott..."

"If I can't protect her now then how am I suppose to protect her for the rest of our lives?" I asked.

"Scott, calm down." Jackson told me and I just shook my head with tears fogging up my vision.

"I can't do this..." I said then sprinted off.

"Scott!" Jackson yelled as I ran down the hallway.

NICOLE'S POV-
"Thank you for dropping me off, Clarissa." I said and she smiled at me.

"No problem Nicole, I'm gonna go now have a nice night." Clarissa said and left.

I walked inside to see the house a mess. Beer bottles and cans everywhere, pizza boxes, takeout, and food scattered all over the house.

I walked into Scott's office to see papers scattered everywhere and he was sitting there with a glass of whiskey.

"Scott?" I asked with my voice cracking.

He turned around and he had blood shot eyes and I could tell he's been drinking a lot.

"Scott..." I said again and he broke down into tears and I ran to him and hugged him.

"I'm so sorry Nicole..."

"Baby, why would you be sorry?" I asked him.

"I couldn't protect you..." Scott said and I hugged him.

"Hey, look at me." I said and he looked at me.

"You couldn't have protected me from him... You didn't know what was going on and don't you dare feel a second of guilt because you couldn't have helped..." I said and hugged him tighter.

"I love you Nicole."

"I love you too."
