Twenty Two

Phear grew more and more worried as dawn approached and they hadn't returned. No one would tell him where they went or if they would be back. He wanted to go after them. He wanted to explain to Hunter what happened. He hadn't meant to feel dismayed about the proposal. In fact he loved it. But he hadn't counted on Hunter being able to pick up on his emotions. Phear wanted to marry Hunter. He wanted him home.
A sudden crashing sound called him back to present. He raced out of his room only to see a group of people race toward the tunnel. He raced to follow them but his father stopped him.
" You can't go down there." His father stated sternly.
" Why the hell not?" He demanded of his father.
"Because you just can't. Its not my place to explain this to you." Growled his father as he pushed him away from the entrance.
"Is Hunter alright?" He questioned.
"I am not at liberty to tell you that." He turned to Phear, "What did you do? Why did you feel dismayed about the proposal?"
"It's not like I meant to." He began, "I was shocked at first then I realized that put a stop to my proposal. I didn't mean to feel dismayed. It just happened. I was speechless trying to think of something to say and before I knew it he was gone." Phear sighed, "I wanted to be the one who proposed. I wanted to be the one who planned it all out. What Hunter did... It was way more than I had planned. I wanted it to be private. I wanted it to be just us. A picnic on the grass in the gardens. I wanted the stars to be shining bright. He... He did it way better than me. I guess I felt guilty. Now... Now I feel lost. I should have answered him. I should have told him. I should have beat him to it when I realized he had gone to you."
"Why didn't you answer him?"
"I don't know. I was speechless. I was shocked. Scared, happy, in love. I was... Jealous. Jealous because he had a better plan than I had."

Vishous stood outside the medical room door waiting for a sign that Hunter was alright. The door opened and Manny came out. He knew the look. Payne was needed. They needed Payne. They needed blood. They needed... They needed to hurry up. His son could die on him. He had been stupid in letting him go without his band. He hadn't thought about the effects of what was happening to him. Behind Manny his mate appeared.
"He's stable. His body is slowly healing itself. What the he'll happened out there?" she demanded.
Vishous sighed, " He killed a bunch of lessers. By himself. He was determined to go without his band and he was... He said he wanted to feel. He'll Jane. This is my fault. Will he be alright?"
"As soon as we get him healed we can know what other damage occured. Physically his body will be okay. Emotionally... That's to be seen."
"He said.... Phear felt dismay at his proposal. That's why he had to leave. He thinks Phear doesn't want him."
"You know differently?"
"Yes. Phear was planning a proposal for this evening. I helped. This is my fault."

Hunter opened his eyes and he was in a bright place surrounded by trees and stone Sculptures. Where had his father taken him?
"My child. Stand." came a sing song kind of voice from behind him..
He stood and slowly turned to her. Something told him not to look or ask questions so he just stood there.
" You are conflicted. Your power is confusing and you fear your mate doesn't seem to want to mate you. Am I correct?" The voice asked him.
" Yes." was all he spoke.
"Your mate loves you. I have seen into his mind. He does want to mate you. And you shall mate. Soon. As for your power it's a powerful one. You can handle it. If you fight it you will end up hurt in the process. You must learn to not fight it. Your power also calls to you when you feel strong emotion. I believe the brother Rhage is helping you correct?"
"Correct."
"Follow his instructions and you will control it. You must continue to train. Your power isn't at its full power yet. It is your destiny to have this power. Your father has his and knows how to control it. You must learn. Your power will not harm an innocent. Go return to your body. I will be seeing you all shortly."

One more chapter until this book ends. I can't believe this book is coming to a close. It's anazing.
