Hidden Wishes

Eighteen

Phear laid beside Hunter with a smile on his face. Finally his mate had taken him sexually. Finally he had opened up to him. He was finally laying in bed with him. Even though Hunter was asleep Phear couldn't fall asleep. He wanted to relish in this moment forever. But he had to get up. He needed to see his Uncle. He needed to see Vishous and Jane. He needed to have a serious conversation with them. He needed to prepare for the field test for the night. He wanted to prepare himself mentally for the stress. He slowly slid out of bed and quickly dressed. He texted Vishous to let him know he needed to talk to him. He headed to the medical unit where Vishous was working.
"Phear, what brings you here this early?" Asked Vishous as Phear approached him.
"I wanted to speak with you and Jane about something. But I suppose I should just talk with you." Phear said. "It has to pertain to Hunter."
"Hunter?" Asked Vishous, "What about him?"
"Last night..." he began, "Last night he opened up to me. Last night he didn't leave me guessing. Last night... Last night I feel like we turned a corner and before he changes his mind..."
"Get on with it."
"I want to talk with you about mating him. In a ceremony."
"Well why didn't you just say so?" Vishous chuckled, " You do realize that until he gets his power under control, he us dangerous? You do know that more often than not he will be in battke?"
"I am well aware. I am willing to trust you and him with his life. I am willing to put myself alongside him in the field. I am willing to trust his mind. I am willing to trust that he will be careful with his life."
"Then I have no problem with you mating him. I am assuming he doesn't know."
"No he doesn't. I wanted to ask you for something else. Maybe even Jane or a different brother."
"Alright."
"I want help picking out the perfect ring."

Hunter woke alone. He knew he was in Phears room and he didn't hear the shower. His scent was very faint. He had been gone a while. He got out of bed and showered. He put a towel around his waist and entered the bedroom. Phear was changing and jumped when he saw Hunter.
"What's doing?" Hunter asked him.
"Um... I'm going out with your father for something. Ill be back." Phear said quickly.
This confused Hunter, "What for? Can I tag along?"
Phear kissed him quickly, "Not this time. I promise it's not bad. Maybe a different time."
Before he knew it Phear was gone again. What was going on with him? Phear was acting off. Had he hurt him the night before? He didn't think so. The night was amazing. They made love. More than once. They talked. He cried. What had he done? He went to his room and changed into gym clothes. He was meeting with Rhage for power training as well as combat training. He wanted the distraction. He wanted to know why Phear wouldn't talk to him. He walked into the gym and Rhage was there waiting.
" Hey you ready for this?" He heard Rhage ask.
"Totally. But first do you know where Phear and my father were going?" He asked Rhage as he warmed up.
"Out is all I know. Your father was evasive."
"Phear was too. I just hope that I didn't hurt him last night."
Rhage smiled and stretched with him. Then they got into the combat fighting. Hand to hand then weaponry. Then they moved onto his power. Tried to force his power. Removed his band and pulled out something that smelled of the enemy and got a result.
" You must stay focused. Focus on the hum. Keep it in check. Don't let it escalate until you are ready. You control it." Rhage hollered at him.
He did as he was told and was shocked to see it working. He focused on keeping the power within him. He couldn't wait to tell Phear. But before he knew it he discharged the Holt of lightening striking the punching bag that housed the foul smell.
"Well... That is a start at least." Rhage began. "Now since you discharged, let's see if you can call the power to you without the band. Don't worry the band will be replaced shortly." Rhage said. "Close your eyes. Think of how the hum feels. Think of how it begins. Feel it spread through your body. Think of how it feels when it's building... Good... That's it. Now picture it going away. Picture it becoming smaller and smaller. Disappearing from your body. Good." Rhage slapped him on the back. " Good. You did amazing. Put the band back on and take a drink of water. We need to outfit you."
