Twenty Three

The Omega walked along the cages that housed the vampires that had been captured. They were running expirements to see how the vampires did with the change. Every day he was getting weaker. Something was taking large parts of him. About fifty of their soldiers had gone missing and his essence hadn't returned. Something he knew had to do with the brothers. He growled at the thought.
"How are the trials going?" He barked at the soldier behind him.
"They... They are going. We've had a few deaths and two attempted suicides." Muttered the man.
"Men or women?"
"Both. The deaths were an even mix the suicides were both men. We are working on keeping a better eye on them."
"These vampires... Have they been tested?"
"Not yet. This our newly acquired lot."
"There's a human here. Why do you have a human."
"She... She's a vampire. One who hasn't changed yet. O said to take her anyways and test her during her transition."
"I see. Have you run any tests on her?"
"Not yet. This batch was collected last night. The others .. they created a diversion and we were able to come here."
The Omega smiled and nodded, "Good. Begin the tests tonight. Start with the females. I want female lessers."

Hunter woke to cold hands on his chest. He looked at saw Jane examining him.
"Your awake. How are you feeling?" She asked him as she sat down.
"Alright." He said softly.
" You seem to be healed. Do you feel hungry, I mean... Thirsty?" She asked looking down.
"Maybe a little." he said.
"I will get you some bagged blood. You responded well to Phears blood. I believe I have a few bags."
"No... Not his blood."
He watched her stop and nod before leaving. Even though his dream told him that Phear wanted him he didn't want to depend on him for life. The door to his room opened. The king and his father walked in.
"You are awake. Good. We wanted to speak with you about something." His father said as they reached his bed.
"Alright." He said motioning them to sit.
" Your father has a power that helps Butch. You see Butch consumes the lessers some how. Your father's power relieves him of that. But its been draining your father. We want to experiment with your power to see if it relieves him." the king said.
"Experiment? But my power won't touch those who aren't the enemy." Hunter said without thinking.
"What makes you think that?" his father demanded.
"It was in a dream. I was somewhere bright and a hooded woman told me my power won't harm those who aren't lessers. Those who aren't our enemy." Hunter explained.
"I see. But Butch has a piece of the Omega in him. Maybe you can help him. We want to run the experiment soon." His father told him.
"I... I could kill him." Huntwr said, "Will you be there to make sure that happens?"
"The both of us will. We will both be there to make sure that doesn't happen. Butch is speaking with his wife now. We hope to begin in an hour."
