"For football. I'm here to train," I tell her. She smiles sadly, shaking her head.

"Yes, but - you chose to leave everything, right? how? why?" My heart sinks as she questions me about this.

"I - I've always dreamed of playing football. And I couldn't pass up the opportunity. My family supported me, they told me to chase my dreams, so here I am," I tell her, and I start to tear up, thinking of Michael and Luke and Mali... I try to blink the tears away.

"Oh, baby boy, please don't cry... tell me everything. What about your friends?"

"I didn't tell them anything - I, I just... left -"

"Alright - tell me about you, aroha." I ask her, placing my hand gently on her thigh. She laughs.

"Of course. Love, though? And your hand on my leg? What are you trying to get at?" Her smile is so genuine and bright. She's perfect.
