ALL: The Party

Kath's POV

"D-Daniel ... sure ka ba okay lang ako titignan?" tanong ko.

"Oo nga. Basta. Act natural. Diba prinactice na kita?" nag-nod ako. Habang sinasalon ako ay dinedictate sa akin ni Daniel kung ano ang mga bagay na kailangan kong malaman tungkol sa pamilya nya.

Karla at Romel Padilla ang pangalan ng parents nya. Yung second brother nya ay si Gerald Padilla at ang fiance nito ay si Maja Salvador. Medyo arrogante yung Kuya nya at strikta at diretso yung fiance nito. 

"Basta wag kang magpapaapekto sa sasabihin ng fiance ni Kuya Gerald." I nodded.

We finally stopped at a huge door. "Ready?' he asked.

"I'm nervous." I said.

"Don't be." he said before kissing my forehead. "Andito lang ako my dear fiance."

I forced a smile and he opened the door. 

"Oh my god ..." I whispered.

"Yup." he sighed. "Welcome to our family reunion."

Everything looks expensive. From the chandelier to the floor. Even the people in the room all looked like professionals and were all good-looking. Most of the people looked at us and whispered among themeselves.

Mas hinigpitan ko ang paghawak ko sa kamay ni Daniel. "Don't look down." he whispered to me. As id on cue the people gave way to us to a table where two middle aged man and woman stood. They were both dress elegantly but the man was on a wheelchair. I felt Daniel make a deep breath.

"Mom, dad. This is Kathryn. My fiance." I held my breathe when his mom stared at me.

"Hello darling. So it is true." his mother went near me. "I'm Daniel's step-mother. And this is his father."

Wait ... stepmother?

I looked at DJ and he was staring at his stepmother. I accepted her hands.

"It's a pleasure to meet you po, tita." I said. Mentally screaming.

"The pleasures mine. Now come, sit."

I looked at the table and Ate Kim and Kuya Xian was waving at us. Next to them was another couple whom I will never forget.

"Is that--?"

"It's them."

Gerald was staring at Daniel as if he was a piece of meat and he was a lion. Kung wala sigurong tao ay matagal nang binalatan ni Gerald si Daniel. I looked at Daniel and he was doing the same. I looked back at the table but this time at the girl. The moment our eyes locked she raised her eyebrows and smiled at me wickedly. I just smiled back.
