Daniel's POV
I walked towards the company earning a few nervous looks from the employee. Though some ladies gave me a flirtatious glance that made me want to wear a shirt that read: Sorry, getting married, when I remembered I wasn't exactly getting married. I just arrived from Cebu but I need to go to work because of some problems and projects. I walked towards the open elevator and almost immediately all the people in it went outside. I ignored them and went in.
Psh. If they're so scared of me then maybe i'll just fire them when I own this company.
Suddenly my phone buzzed. I opened it and saw it was a text from Kathryn.
From: Kathryn Bernardo
Hey boss! Tanong ko lang kung napakita mo na ang pictures sa dad mo?
P.S. Wag masungit sa workers mo. Smile ka naman paminsa-minsan, hindi sya nakakamatay, Promise! :P
On second thought, maybe I won't fire them.
I didn't even notice I was smiling. When the elevator made a 'ding' sound I straightened up and removed the stupid smile on my face. I walked towards dad's office. Even though he was sick he always go to the company to work. Even if the family objected he never listened so they agreed to give him simple and small works which made him happy.
"Good morning sir." sabi ko sa kanya bago nag bow.
"Good morning, son." He gave me a smile. "How are you?"
I ignored his question. "I have the reports you needed for our new partners. All you need to do is choose." I said placing four white folders and one black folder in his table. All part of the plan. I need to pretend to 'accidentaly' place the black folder with all our photos for him to see it.
I looked at him and he was staring at me as if he was a concerned father looking at his troubled son. Psh. He sighed and then looked at the folders.
Even though he accepted me in his family and has been really good to me I still hate him for dragging my mother to his world and making her his mistress. My mother could have made any billionare fall to their feet and make them marry her but he choosed this bastard. I hate mom too. If it wasn't for them I would not be living in this hell. In fact, I hate everybody. Everybody except her. She's ... different.
"What's this?" he asked pointing to the different black folder. I pretended to be shocked.
"I'm sorry, sir. It's nothing important." I said trying to take it away but he took it and looked at the pictures of me and Kathryn in Cebu.
I saw how his smile got bigger as he scanned our pictures. That's right. Keep smiling old man. That's what I need. When all this bullshit end i'll be the one to laugh.
Finally he stopped and stared at a picture for a long time. "She really does look like your mother."
