On the way to work I started daydreaming, not paying as much attention to where I was heading. I was looking up at the sky, being partly cloudy with the sun slightly hidden, yet still manages to be extremely cold. Good thing I grabbed the sweater! I should talk to Francis later, I mean I hate his guts but I haven't talked to him in a while! Not that that's a bad thing, I mean.
Before I knew it I was in front of the usual building, the flowers their usual brightness. I'm opening the shoppe today, so I grabbed out my keys and used the spare for the building that Antonio gave me. A few people walking by glanced at the shoppe, but many people just walked on by so they wouldn't be late anywhere. The street seemed abuzz, making me nearly forget the fact that I was here to work.
I walked in and flipped a sign on the door, signaling our opening. It had black cursive lettering and a border design of small light pink carnations, which I had actually painted myself when our last sign broke. It took my about an hour to get the details right, but eventually I had success! I started dusting off the counters and wiping down the windows while I was waiting, seeing as no one was coming in anytime soon.
I grabbed my phone and started playing some music, my phone decided to humor me with the English cover of Drop Pop Candy. I laughed before singing along quietly, smiling widely and got going through some of the chores, finishing them up faster than I thought. More happy songs seemed to be playing, which really concerned me. I was waiting for my phone to randomly drop some dark sounding song like Bullet by Hollywood Undead or one of the many My Chemical Romance songs on my phone, but it never seemed to happen. Well, besides Na Na Na I'm-Not-Listing-That-Many-Nas by My Chemical Romance. I was sucked back into reality at the bells of the door ringing. I turned off my music and walked up to see who it was, smiling widely and the person who had just entered.
"Amelia! How did it go? Did it work out?!", I rambled excitedly, walking up to her happily.
"It went perfectly! She said yes and we're gonna get married! Oh, and she liked the flowers. You know, you look like her if the was a boy... Weird! ", Amelia replied happily, nearly jumping out of excitement, "She said she wants to meet with you to discuss flowers for the wedding!"
"Gladly! If I'm not here, it's usually the owner of this establishment Antonio. Oh dear lord I just had the strangest realization ever.", I said, suddenly remembering,"Are we friends?"
"Uh, heck yeah dude! Of course! Why?", Amelia responded, her head tilted to the side slightly out of confusion.
I suddenly blushed, feeling embarrassed about the next fact,"I'm not used to making friends. Seriously, I have like, maybe two? I don't really talk to people..."
Amelia smiled at me and pulled me into a sudden hug,"Well too bad, you'll be forced to talk to me!"
We laughed and talked for another twenty minutes, her picking up a white rose to give to Alice since that was the main flower in the bouquet yesterday. She told me all about how Alice acts and how she looks, telling me about how they've already started planning the wedding. I couldn't help but feel happy for the soon to be married couple, she seemed to be so happy it was rubbing off on me. I guess that's a good thing, I could use more happiness in my life.
The next few hours whizzed by quickly, a few customers coming in and buying gifts for their soulmates and friends or family. It was really sweet to see some people caring that much about others, seeming happy themselves talking about who they were buying it for. Once it reached 1:30, Antonio arrived and let me on my lunch break. i wasn't feeling all too hungry, so I set out to go to the bar to talk to Francis, seeing as I haven't seen him in quite a while. Well, on my way, I guess!
