I locked the door behind me, heading out to my job as usual. Today seemed odd, it wasn't as drab and gloomy. There was actually some sun today! Thank god I decided to walk to work today, or else I would've missed out on it! I smiled to myself lightly and continued walking, the building becoming more and more in view, the bright colours of some of the flowers starting to pop out more. My smile grew more as I walked in, greeted by the usual overly happy Spaniard.

Antonio waved towards me, putting some money in the register as a woman walked out with a bouquet of yellow Carnations and Abraham Darby roses, smiling. I looked away from her and towards Antonio, walking up to him. He automatically smiled wider. Oh no what is going to happen today...

"Arthur! So, how is Alfred?", Antonio asked, putting extra emphasis on his name.

I rolled my eyes,"He's an idiot. He misread his plane ticket somehow and is arriving earlier than originally expected.", I pinched the bridge of my nose, remembering the incident over the phone.

"How much earlier? Is it a good thing", Antonio stopped for a moment and gasped," What if he is your soulmate?"

Antonio smiled even wider, and I just looked at him blankly,"He's arriving in three days, and I doubt it. And if he is, I feel completely and utterly sorry for him."

I frowned at my own words and looked around," So, what do you want me to do today? It seems slow today, but it isn't the usual rush yet.", I said, mentioning how there are usually a lot of people buying flowers later for dinner dates or seeing a show to give to a performer.

Antonio pointed towards the flowers separated by type," I want you to arrange a few more bouquets since we haven't done that for a while"

I gave Antonio a thumbs up and walked over to arrange some bouquets. I did my usual job of colour coordinating the bouquets and adding some with clashing colours to make them pop out more. Generally we price them based off of the flowers we used and amounts, but occasionally Antonio will make them cost less, being the hopeless romantic he is.

I looked at the bouquets I had made, setting them on display for people to see. I smiled and walked over to Antonio, noticing he looked slightly tired.

"Hey, I can take over for a bit if you need. You can rest a bit.", I said, placing my hand on his shoulder lightly.

"Can you? That would be great! Just got to bed late last night, or early? It was like, one..", Antonio rambled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Go get some sleep! I can handle the store, I am very capable.", I said, smiling confidently.

Antonio sluggishly exited the building, seeming ready for a good nap. I stood at the register, smiling and looking at all the colours around me, feeling oddly happy today. I heard the ringing of bells that we had put on the door, signaling a customer had entered. I smiled up to see a girl with short dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She had on an American flag tank top and blue jeans, matching with American flag converse. I held in my laughter at how ironic it would be that they are in England.

She looked at the flowers, smiling confidently and looking around. I walked out from behind the counter to help her. I mean, that is my job. And I'm going to do it properly.

"Hello miss! Is there anything specific you are looking for today?", I asked, smiling.

She turned around, surprised for a second, before replying happily," Ah, yes please! I'm looking for a bouquet for my girlfriend Alice! I'm planning on proposing tonight, actually! Which means I need the perfect bouquet!"

She had a strong American accent, and very loud,"Oh, congratulations! Well, my name is Arthur! What do you have in mind?", I asked, holding my hand out for a handshake.

She shook my hand firmly and excitedly," I'm Amelia! I just want it to be, well, perfect I guess? Like really pretty! And sophisticated! Just between you and me, Alice thinks I'm at work."

I smiled at this overly excited girl before quickly rushing over to grab my favourite bouquet from today. It had white Roses, Jasmine,  Forget-Me-Not, and some blue-white Violets. It was mainly shades of blue and white and looked delicate. I brought it back over to Amelia, smiling.

Amelia looked at it and smiled wider," Perfect! How much?"

"Well, $40, but I'll give you a discount so it's $32.", I said, walking over to the register.

"Are you sure?!", Amelia replied happily.

I smiled up at her," Of course! Maybe you can get your flowers here for your wedding", I said, waggling my eyebrows.

"Of course dude! Your shop is awesome! Thanks so much!"

Amelia paid and skipped happily out of the store. I hope things turn out perfectly for her and.. Alice, was it? Well, back to work for me!
