I woke up, suddenly feeling the toll of actual exercise for the first time in years. Every one of my muscles burned, like holy fuck I never want to exercise again. It's satanic, I tell you.
I sat there rocking back and forth, trying to get it to stop hurting. But, to no avail. I groaned and rolled onto my stomach, stretching my arms out and sitting there. The pain finally started subsiding and I started to push myself on the ground towards the shower. I mean, maybe the water will help? Might as well try.
Hero looked down at me from up on the table, tilting his head slightly. I glared up at him and stuck out my tongue, confusing the cat more.
"What are you looking at! I don't need to be judged by a cat!",I snarled, continuing to push myself on the ground, still looking at Hero.
I finally reached the bathroom, turning on the shower and locking the door. I looked at myself in the mirror before it could fog up, making faces at myself. I mean, damn I'm ugly. Look at it! Wow so nice to myself now, huh? Maybe I could star in a horror film as the monster. Before I could berate myself any longer, I hopped in the shower.
~~~~Time Skip~~~~
I finally hopped out of the shower and wrapped the towel around my waist. The hot water did relax my muscles a bit, so it just hurts if I pull certain ones a certain way. I put on a white button up and tan pants, along with a green, blue, and yellow sweater vest. I looked at myself in the mirror, smoothing out any wrinkles and walking out.
I walked over to a speaker I had and got an idea. I plugged in my phone and started playing Danke Schoen by Wayne Newton, smiling. I started mouthing the lyrics, cleaning up the house a bit. Soon, I started singing and cleaning to the beat, twirling occasionally. Once the song ended I hurried over and put on the Postmodern Jukebox version of Stacy's Mom, laughing and singing along, dancing a bit. I have quite a weird taste in music, but hey, I like it!
I continued to clean, feeling happy for the moment. The moment only ended when I got a call, and damn it was getting to the best part! Ugh, it would be rude not to pick up. I walked over and unplugged my phone, silencing the loud blaring. My eyes widened looking at the name, I answered it immediately.
"Alfred! Why are you calling me?", I asked quickly.
"Because dude! I can! Plus I have some new information! So, I am really bad at getting things right, so I might be flying in a week early", he said, booming through my phone speaker. Holy shit he needs to be quieter.
"Okay, so, how did you mess this up?",I asked, my voice getting slightly frustrated.
"Uhh, I don't exactly know? But I will apparently be flying in..... Oh shit in three days? Seriously don't know how this happened."
"Oh, you better be glad I don't have plans! I would've kicked you onto the streets if I did! I have work a few of those days, so just do somehing on those days without dying and it should be fine.",I said, pinching the bridge of my nose," And please don't try to annoy me, it wouldn't end up good for either of us."
"ARTIE YOU ARE THE BEST OH MY GOD THANK YOU BRO"
"It's Arthur you idiot! Now get packed, I'm guessing it's still at the same time? Or did you read that wrong too?"
"Nah, same time! Don't even worry about it! THE HERO WILL BE THERE SOON YEAH!"
He hung up shortly after, leaving my looking at the cat. It had ran over the second it heard the word Hero. Huh, that's.. Cool? And concerning. Maybe he'll like Hero.
I checked the time and headed out to work, a mixture of frustration and a small bit of happiness and impatience.
