I woke up to see clothes and shoes on the duvet. "I guess I have to wear this" I changed into them and tied my hair up into pigtails. I noticed a pain in my heart. Why am I feeling this pain? I pondered over this as I made myself toast for breakfast. This house has everything my room in Earth Land does and more. The bedroom was decorated just like mine, the bathroom too. The new things were that there was a kitchen and a living room in this house. I finished breakfast and went to the front door to see a note attached to it. It read: Meet me in the watching room when you wake up. Heath. As soon as I finished reading it a red light surrounded me and I closed my eyes against its brightness. When I opened them again I wasn't in front of the door anymore, I was in a room with creepy statues and a throne. Sat atop that throne was the Hells Dragon. "Come forward" I timidly followed his orders. He wrapped one of his paws around my wrist and it started to burn. "Ow! What are you doing?!" "Be silent" The force in his voice made me do so. He let go and a bracelet with flames decorating it was now around my wrist. "This allows you to withstand the intense heat of the mines. It also protects your soul from being taken by a devil" Heat would be good considering how cold I am right now. Seriously my fingers had started to turn blue. "Where are the mines?" "South from your house. There will be a devil waiting for you" The red light surrounded me again and I was teleported back to my new house. I headed south and eventually found a man with horns and red wings. "You must be the new miner. Mines this way" He went down a hole in the ground. Huh?! I looked down the hole to see him walking down stairs. Oh, that makes more sense. I quickly followed him to reach the bottom. "You'll be working this area" He led me to an area where I could see parts of jewels sticking out the walls and a scary looking devil. "I'll return at 8pm" He left and the other devil shoved a pickaxe into my arms. "Get to work" I went to one of the walls and lifted the pickaxe. It hit the wall with a clang and rock debris went flying. This is hard! I slowly mined. "Faster!" Pain went through my chest. "Ahh!" "Do I have to repeat myself?" "N-no..." I strained the little muscles I had to mine faster.
(Time skip 14 hours, 8pm)
My arms ached painfully by the time the devil who I first met came to get me. He led me out of the mines and I began the walk home but I was so tired. My legs gave out halfway there and I fainted.
When I woke up I was in the Hells Dragon's throne room. "Do you know what time it is?" "N-no?" "It's 8am. You're 2 hours late for work" "It's not my fault! My body was exhausted! I had to rest! I passed out before I even made it home!" "I didn't ask for your excuses. You broke one of my rules and you will be punished accordingly" Pain ran through my body and I collapsed screaming loudly. " I blacked out.
It had been two weeks since I was trapped in hell. The extreme coldness I was feeling didn't let up and the random pain in my heart had strengthened. I got used to the work although it was still extremely tiring and had gotten used to finding Damien in the house Heath had assigned me. We had also gotten used to each other, he opened up to me and we soon became good friends. Never thought I'd be friends with the Hells Dragon's son. I thought to myself as I walked home from the mines. As soon as I got home I collapsed on the sofa in the living room. "Damien get out of my bedroom!" He walked into the room. "I said any room but my bedroom" "That's exactly why I was in there" "Because rules were made to be broken" I said with him. He looked at me shocked. "You shouldn't be so surprised, don't you remember how many times you have said that to me?" "Guess not" "If I had your attitude I would have been dead two weeks ago" "Rules are meant to be broken by some. That is my new motto. How was work?" "You only ask that to know if I stole any jewels from the mine" "Did you?" "Don't tell anyone I did. But only because I wanted you to stop pestering me about it" "Cool! Can I see it?" "Sure" I took out a rainbow coloured jewel that was as big as my hand. "It's really beautiful" "Reminds me of Mercury" "Who's that?" "The Heavens Dragon's daughter" "You know her daughter?!" This was very surprising news to me. "Yeah but now it's your turn to not tell anyone. What I've been hiding everyday was a communications orb that allows me to talk to her" "Whoa...your dad wouldn't like that" "That's why you can't tell him!" "Don't worry my lips are sealed. Do you like her?" "Unfortunately yes because we can never be together" "That's so sad...I'm sorry Damien" "It's not your fault" His yellow eyes were full of sadness. "Hey how about I make us some dinner?" "Really?" "Yep! How about chicken and roast potatoes?" "Yes please!" I know how much the little dragon loved to eat. He was like Natsu in that aspect. I missed everyone at the guild but they didn't miss me at all even though I was gone. That fact hurt me but what hurt me the most was: Daisuke doesn't know I'm gone..."Are you okay?" Damien brought me from my thoughts. "Y-yeah! Sorry I'll get started on dinner!" I went to the kitchen and got everything I needed ready. Suddenly the pain in my heart became unbearable and I collapsed bringing an empty pot with me. I found it hard to breathe and started choking. What's going on?! Damien came running into the room. "Yuri hold on!" He stopped in front of me and a dark red light surrounded him.

When it dimmed Damien was human with long dark red hair, yellow eyes and black clothing. He picked me up and pressed his lips to mine. What's the meaning of this?! As he kissed me the pain in my heart lessened until it disappeared completely. He pulled away and I gasped as I could breathe properly again. "Are you okay?" "Yeah..." "Human bodies can't withstand being in hell for long periods of time. That's what happens when the bodies reach their limit" "So Heath was just going to let me die?!" "Nearly die, he wanted Helena to sense that you were in life or death danger. He was going to save you himself and told me not to interfere but I couldn't stand leaving you like that" "But your dad told you not to...you broke one of his rules just for me?" "You're a very special friend to me and rules are meant to be broken by some" He smiled at me. "But won't he punish you?" "You're more important besides I'm used to his punishments. I'm an all time rule breaker so it happens a lot" "Thanks Damien, I really need a good friend right now" "Then I'm glad you've now got one" He put me down and handed me the pot I dropped. "Now let's get started on dinner" "You'll help me?" "Friends help each other out, right?" I smiled at him with all the happiness I could muster because I was just really happy to have Damien right now. "Right" we made and ate dinner together. "So you could have turned into a human and made being together much easier all this time?" "What can I say? I like causing trouble" "Oh Damien..." I rolled my eyes as we enjoyed our dinner. When we finished I made Damien wash up. "That's revenge for causing me trouble all this time" "You really can't hand out punishments" "Eh, I'm not a violent or sadistic person" I shrugged. "It looks like it didn't work" "What didn't work?" "My dad's plan. If it did you would be in his throne room right now" "That's because she only comes if she absolutely has to. Since you were there to help me and your dad planned on helping me she didn't need to come since I would have been saved either way" "Dad did not know that, guess it serves him right for not asking you" "Yeah, well I should get to bed. Want to have as much energy as possible for the mines tomorrow" "Night Yuri, see you tomorrow. Also don't tell anyone you gave me that jewel" "Goodnight Damien and don't worry I won't" I went to my bedroom, got ready for bed and got into bed letting sleep wash away all the exhaustion from the mines.
