Chapter 3: Sessions

Jakob went into the eating room. The feast was set up and ready. He then called everyone in. Everyone except for Ev showed up in the room. Everyone sat down and started to eat. Ev showed up a minute in. He walked over and sat down across from Matthew. Matthew watched him do this. Ev simply smiled and started to dig into the food. Matthew thought to himself
'He knows'
"So Ev I'm sorry about your loss " said Matthew
Ev nodded slightly then shot a threaten glance at Jaden.
"Must have been horrible " continued Matthew
"It was" said Ev
"Must have been nice to exact revenge huh"?
Ev shrugged.
"I bet my axe can beat yours " said Jakob
"Really? That old thing"? Said Ben
"Yep" said Jakob
"Hm"
Andy finished his plate almost in five minutes.
"You eat fast" said Bob
Andy shrugged
Ev could tell by the way he was acting that he wasn't liking something. He noticed him start messing around with his sword. Ev then understood that Andy wasn't liking the peaceful nature right now.
"I have an idea" said Jakob
"What"? Asked Ev
"Me and Ben have an axe spar"
"Alright " said Ben
Everyone except for Ev and Matthew got up and went outside to the field.
"So I hear you're not doing well with recent events " said Matthew
Ev nodded
"How about me and you start having little sessions to try and get you back on track"
Ev thought about it for a little bit
"Okay"

Ev walked into the little sessions room. It was going to be his third one. His first one was the night of the newcomers arrival, two days ago. While Ben and Jakob sparred. Those two had spent practically the past two days sparring. Ev had made a secret deal with Adam. When Adam went outside to work on the wall if he looked through the wreckage and found something useful then he would get extra free time.
"Sit down " said Matthew
Ev sat. He noticed that every time he did this Matthew tried to be the dominant one in the situation.
"What would you like to talk about today"? asked Matthew
Ev shrugged
Everytime he did this Ev knew that Matthew was trying to turn him to his  side. Ev wouldn't ditch his companions though.
"Maybe let's talk about Quest" said Matthew darkly
Ev thought to himself
'How does he know about Quest'?
"Um...okay..." said Ev
"What was the look he had in his eyes"? Asked Matthew
Ev looked into Matthew's eyes
"Fear."
"Fear"?
"Yes."
"Hm"
Ev didn't let up his gaze.
Matthew sighed
"Look I'm just gonna be straight with you " said Matthew
"I know you've been listening to us" he continued
"Let's just say I can guarantee that with us you'd be better off"
"Oh"? Said Ev
Matthew nodded
"And how is that possible "?
"Well we're going to soon take control and if you don't join you will be killed off" said Matthew
"Why do you think you're going to be able to kill me"? Asked Ev
Matthew was silent .
"You gonna shoot me"? Asked Ev
Matthew shrugged.
"I survived a straight gunshot through my chest, good luck with your plan of getting rid of me" said Ev
Matthew continued being silent. Ev then also sat quietly. Ev's eyes slowly went down to the Bane of Kings on Matthew's belt. The Bane of Kings was the name of Matthew's golden knife.
"I noticed your interest in my knife" said Matthew
Ev looked up at him.
"I say you don't pull your betrayal act" said Ev
"Why"? Asked Matthew
"Cause you'll loose" said Ev threatening
"How"? Asked Matthew
"I don't loose" said Ev
"Hm"
"It'll end with you on the ground, dead and me standing victorious over you, with that knife" said Ev, his tone increasing with each word.
"This session is over." Said Matthew
He then got up and left. Ev sat thinking what his next move would be.
