Chapter 15: Fake

Matthew turned and ran for a door leading out back of the building. Andy stayed and tried to hold off the three coming in from the front. Matthew kicked the back door wide open. He jumped out and scanned the area. He saw him. Ev and the other two were coming up the side of the hill towards him. Ev had spotted him as well. Matthew took off sprinting towards a door on the side of a building. Ev pulled out a knife and readied. Matthew was almost to the door. Ev threw the knife hard and fast. Matthew was expecting him to through a knife at him. He tried his best to out maneuver the throw. The knife flew through the air and stabbed into the back of Matthew's lower leg. Matthew winced but kept on going. He ended up reaching the door. Ev was basically right behind him but Matthew got inside and shut the door. He had locked the door and Ev couldn't get in. Andy and Adam continued trading off shots in the building. Jakob and Ted couldn't push up with out getting shot. Adam moved out of cover slightly and popped off a couple more shots at Andy. He then returned fire. Two of them barley missed Adam. Adam saw a stairway that led to another part of the building. He could go through there and sneak up behind Andy. He got up and snuck off that way. Ted pulled out his pistol and made sure to suppress Andy with shots so Adam could get away. Andy though saw Adam sneak off. He knew he was going to come around the long way but he and Matthew had set traps that way. Andy knew where the other two were though and he saw an opening.
"Quickly get that door open"! Yelled Ev
Bob and Jaden went and tried prying open the door. Ev then heard a loud noise coming from inside of the building. Adam continued to sneak through the halls. He turned the corner and walked about two feet before the floor collapsed. Adam fell into a ditch in the ground. It was a deep ditch. He looked around and didn't see any way up. He then heard the moan of the undead. Ted looked over the cover to see where Andy was. He wasn't there.
"Wait..."
Andy lunged over and grabbed Ted then held his sword to his neck.
"Move and he dies"
Jakob quickly got up in defiance.
"Let him go" said Jakob
"Why"? Said Andy
"You know it's not worth it "
"Are you sure? Who says we're both dying tonight"
Adam looked around for a way up. He saw some broken boards. He started to climb up them. He fell a couple of times but he eventually got out. Down the hall was a group of sickos. He raised up his rifle and began firing. Jakob and the others heard gunshots echoing through the halls.
"Looks like they found him" said Andy
Andy knew it wouldn't hold off Adam forever. He started to back up and out of the building. Jakob followed in close pursuit. Andy stepped outside and looked over his shoulder. That's when he realized that he was trapped. Bob, Jaden and Ev were all out there trying to get the door open still. Andy quickly came up with a plan. He threw Ted onto the ground not before he sliced him with his sword. He then brought to bear what was on his back. It was a rpg. He aimed it Jakob and then he fired. Jakob jumped so fast and hard. He hadn't been so terrified before in his life. The rocket flew past him and hit the wall behind him. Rubble and debris flew everywhere. The explosion shocked everyone. Andy had dropped the rpg and took off running down the hill towards the cars. Nobody was able to react fast enough to stop him. Ev heard the loud noise in the hangar grow louder and then a giant door on the side of the building opened. A jet came out with Matthew piloting it. He took off. The sound made everyone clench their ears as it made the loudest sound. The jet soared overhead. Adam then came out of the hole in the wall from the explosion. His clothes were all torn up from the sickos. He grabbed the rpg and aimed it high. He took a breath then. BANG. The rocket soared through the air. Everyone watched with their teeth clenched. The rocket hit the jet in the rear. It made the jet start descending towards the trees. A parachute shot out and flung out Matthew who landed in the trees. Ev shot up and started running in that direction. He ran down the hill with all speed. He would have the Bane of Kings now. It was going to be his. He came into a clearing and saw Matthew hanging from a tree. He was bleeding everywhere.
"You got me..." he croaked
"I told you I would " said Ev
"You're going to be disappointed..."
"Nah" said Ev
This angered Matthew as he came to terms with the fact Ev had beaten him. Ev upholstered his revolver.
"Go burn in hell"! Yelled Matthew
"I'll see you there " replied Ev
BANG.
Ev watched as he took another person's life with that gun. He approached Matthew's corpse. He reached to grab the Bane of Kings. He found only a note, no knife. It read
'Sometimes the end is only the beginning '
Ev went into a fury.
