Chapter 12: The Surprise

The car sent Matthew and Ev flying through the air. Matthew was knocked up and slid down to the road. Ev landed near the ditch. H e had shut his eyes tightly before he was hit. He slowly opened his eyes. Everything on him hurt but then he looked down at his hand. He had the Bane of Kings in his hand. Ev smiled he survived and had the Bane of Kings. He still couldn't move much though. He looked up and saw Andy and Miranda get out of the car. They were heading for him. Ev used all he had left to try to push himself into the ditch and away from the two. Miranda looked disappointed and Andy looked mad. Ev manage to roll into the ditch but they followed him.
"What should we do to him"? Asked Miranda
"Let's take him back to base and do something there" said Andy
Adam looked through his scope and saw them drag Ev out of the ditch. They also had somehow gotten the Bane of Kings away from him. Andy then went and got Matthew from the road. Miranda threw Ev into the back of the car. She saw that he wasn't able to do much and hit his leg with the hilt of the knife hard. Ev winced in pain.
"Why did you take Ben " she choked out
"Why haven't you killed me yet"? Asked Ev
Miranda growled in anger.
She raised the knife but was stopped by Andy before she could stab Ev. Andy took the knife from her and got into the car. She followed him in. Ev knew he had to get out so he popped open the back of the car. The car started to zoom off. The car was moving fast. Ev closed his eyes. Now or never. He rolled out of the back and went splat on the road. The pain was immense and he couldn't take it. He passed out. The car drove off leaving Ben's body behind. Gen and Bob came out with medical supplies to Ev.
The night was cool and nice. The sun set had been pleasant. Gen had developed a love for spending time out here at the sun set. Ev had been taken care of and was going to be spending the next couple of weeks in bed resting. Adam found a bunch of new knives on a run and a target board. So at least Ev could work on his knife throwing skills. Gen looked at the item in her hand. She sighed. She hoped it turn out to be the best. She heard something. It sounded like a car or something. Before she could react Jim yelled
"Incoming"!
From his guard post.
A car smashed through the wall. Bricks fell all over Gen and crushed her. She struggled to get out. Andy got out of the car. Instead of killing her though he ran out of the hole he had made. Adam and Ted were out now. They ran towards her.
"Watch out"! Yelled Jim
The car had smoke coming out of it and the hood was on fire. Gen got loose and started to limp towards Adam. The car exploded. Gen went flying into the air. Adam and Ted were showered in rubble. He found her on the floor and started to drag her to safety. Adam looked down at the item that was in her hand. It was a pregnancy test and it was positive. Adam gasped and carried her to the medical room. They started to treat her injuries.
"What are you guys doing downstairs? Test out bimbs"? Yelled Ev from down the hall. Adam concentrated hard at the task at hand. This meant something to him for once.
