Chapter 11: Victor

Andy almost immediately pulled up his shield while Ev hid behind him. The bullets flew by and some made it through the shield. One went through and went past Andy and hit Ev in the waist. A couple went through the shield and hit Andy in the arm and legs. Andy fell face forward onto the ground moan in pain. Ev clenched his waist and looked up at Matthew. Matthew grinned and pulled out the Bane of Kings. Ev winced then ran at Matthew at full speed. He had a knife at the ready but he was starting to run out knives. Matthew made a jab for him but Ev parried it and swung back. Jakob raised his axe against Ben once more bringing it down with a hard swing. Ben tried his best to block it but he was beginning to tire. Plus he was losing a good amount of blood from his knife wounds. Jakob was also feeling his energy leave him from all the swings. His face hurt from all the punches Ben had given him but he pushed through. Ben then saw it, an opening in Jakob's defense. He quickly swung and cut it Jakob's leg. This caused Jakob to fall onto one knee. Ben grinned.
"I win " said Ben
Jakob chuckled
"That's were you're wrong " said Jakob
Ben lifted his axe to finish Jakob. As he did this Jakob pulled out his pistol and shot Ben in the stomach. Ben felt the axe slip from his hands and fall behind him. Ben gasped for air then fell onto his knees. Jakob got up and grabbed his axe. Ben closed his eyes knowing he was now free of Matthew and this hell world. Jakob raised his axe and then it flew down. Miranda cried out as she looked over and saw Ben's head roll down the hill. Matthew and Ev both looked over at the scene. Matthew didn't seem to care, Ev knew that Ben wanted to be free from Matthew so he would now be at peace. Matthew took this chance to slice Ev's gun shot wound. Ev stepped back and bent over. Matthew raised his knife to stab it into Ev's back. Ev grinned and thrusted his knife into Matthew's thigh. Matthew yelped and let his guard down long enough for Ev to grab the knife. Matthew had iron grip on it and did not let go. The two pulled back and forth for the knife. Miranda had run out of bullets at this point and had started to drag Andy to the car. He was breathing but very slowly. Adam and the others on the wall had also ceased their fire to save ammunition. They also were stunned watching what was happening out there. Miranda started the car and put it into drive. She stopped coming to one hundred percent terms that Ben was gone. She didn't have anyone to help her escape from Matthew. She knew she shouldn't have let him go out that night at the air force base.
"It's all Ev's fault he's dead" said Miranda quietly
She looked up and saw Matthew and Ev fighting over the Bane of Kings. She watched for a little bit then realized what she could do. She could run them both over, avenge Ben partially and get rid of Matthew and that stupid knife. She started to pull in towards Matthew and Ev. The two were still oblivious to her approaching them. Jakob had returned to the Y to get patched up. All that was left was Ev and Matthew. Ev and Matthew continued to grapple for the Bane of Kings. Everytime one of them got a better hold the other found a new grip. They were so caught up into it that they didn't see Miranda approaching. Ev heard the roar of a car engine and saw her. She was zooming towards the them. Ev knew what her intentions were, kill them both.
'Well if I can't have the knife then no one can' thought Ev. He pulled Matthew close and smiled.
"Die" said Ev
The car slammed into both of them.
